I've noticed a LOT of you folks are in the entertainment industry..and lots in music. Anyone need a great trumpet player? Our son is receiving his masters in trumpet performance in May from University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Got his BMA from Boston University.

If you happen to be in Winston-Salem on Sunday March 8 at 7:30, you are invited to his final grad recital...Watson Hall. Dessert reception to follow.

Shelley...

Your son may already be aware of the International Trumpet Guild, but if not he should check it out. Employment opportunities (both performance and academic positions) are listed along with other features on the ITG web site.

Good luck.

I've got a new Heights story that just happened to me. I was visiting my Branch in LA and walking around meeting some of the employees. I start talking to this one guy, Dennis Horowitz, and he mentions that he was from Cleveland. I say really so am I. So I ask where in Cleveland, he says cleveland heights and before you know it it turns out he graduated from CHHS in 1969. We couldn't believe it. I clued him in to the web site and the reunion. I still can't believe it. It really can be a small world.

Got another one. It is really a Michael (Slate) story though. A couple years back he was at a golf course in Boca Raton, FL where he lives and they added a golfer to his group and they got to talking while they were golfing and found that they both were from Cleveland, and through talking realized they both went to Belvoir. The other guy left after maybe third grade. But he said the one thing he remembers from Belvoir was his second grade girlfriend...Val Iberall..and Michael said, yeah, well she was his fifth grade girlfriend and he married her! That must have been a funny moment for both of them!

Hey here's one...when I went on a quest to find the yearbook to upload all of your grad pictures, I went through the list of Florida people and I contacted anyone who lived in a driveable radius of me. Finally found a girl who lives maybe 35 mintues from me..but that's not who I'm writing about, there is a guy who you all went to high school with who lives right here in my development! He did write back to me saying he doesn't know where his yearbook is but we probably pass by each other at our Publix grocery store all the time but don't know who each other is!

I would like to say to ALL of you on the committee as well as those contributing to this reunion with organizing, pictures and info, a great big THANKS! It is outstanding. More than I would have expected and has inspired me to look into my antique steamer trunk and rummage for pictures and Roosevelt stuff and send to Val. However, I don't have a scanner so can What would be the best way to do this? Thanks.

Clare...

If you have a flash drive or CD you can take that plus your pictures to any Office Max or Staples, and they will scan the pics and load them onto your drive or CD for a very reasonable price. Then just plug the loaded drive or CD into your computer and attach the pictures in an e-mail to Val.

Hi to all , just wondering why the reunion is in Oct instead of sometime in the summer.? Also this web site is amazing and i am enjoying catching up with classmates from the past. The only thing i ask if possible is to set up a system where we see our sent messages to who! and the datewe sent them . This site doesnt allow you to keep track of your sent messages. Is this even possible????. thanks Rob

What is old age... While most of us will wish that we will never know.... Wendy exercises at the JCC (Beachwood) as the one of our youth is long gone :(
with a woman who is 91 years young... So if you feel old you are then old....It is funny on how a mind works... Grade school was a long time ago and yet at times it seems like it was just yesterday...
In writing this I have to admit that I felt old turning 54 only because we lost my father at that age....but my Mother's mother said it more... LIFE IS BUT A DREAM... She said that at the age of 89.... (in Yidish it sounds better )

Val Iberall (O'Connor)

Well my mom who is doing terrific at 95 won a couple of olympic gold medals for people over 90 a couple of years ago for a swimming competition..so I question what old age is too...

Val

Age is a number whether you are young or old. It is all about your attitude.
