Louie, uh..I mean Mr. Entertainment, you know you and David Moskowitz were the 2 craziest and funniest boys of my Jr.High boy peeps! Not to make you jealous, but does anyone keep in touch with David Moskowitz? Did he grow up? If so, too bad cuz he was alway soooooo funny. Almost as funny as you Mr. Entertainment!

Joel, Chuck, after our reunion in October if we all still feel "kumbayai" together, perhaps we can have a West Coast Reunion in the 5 years in between?! There are a few of us here in San Diego and a number of you in Los Angeles (Susan Isakowitz & Harry Markowitz, Patty Myers, etc). Of course you easterners are always welcome. Val your mom is here so you have a double excuse to come. Mitch you are in the middle....more west. I think of you as almost "bi"!

Hello all...

After a delightful evening at Fisher's tavern (how long has THAT place been there? I think my Grandfather drank there!) we are going to attempt to schedule another lunch at Mad Greek.

Friday June 19th... Noon... Join us if you can.

Scott Poffenberger and Kent Johnson have known one another since Kindergartin and/or first grade at Fairfax in the 50's. I do not believe that either of us were any more than acquaintances until 8th and 9th grade at Roxboro. I sensed an espirt de corps with Scott which was severed when my parents were the first to pilgrimage to the country(Richfield). I had considered Scott as a dork but, he was not. He was inquisitive, engaging and friendly. I'm nought sure but, I think Scott would find that I am much more traditional than he is, today. Back then, the odds would have been reversed. I had a very brief hippie period and never even smoked pot until most recently. I am very pleased to have heard from Scott and that he is active in our reunion activities.

Hi Joyce,

WOW, do I ever remember the 'cardiac kids.' I have some really fun memories of sitting in the old stadium during the end of season winter games with snow on my head from the lake effect and frozen feet. While it WAS COLD, it is still one of the great memories I have of the Cleveland Browns games. This is along with the year the DOG POUND was founded, the bleacher seats (CHEAP section where you could always get a contact high) and lots of other things like "Fud Muckers" Does anyone else remember what those were?????? I was lucky to have a brother in law who was the sports editor for another long gone icon; The Cleveland Press. He would give out 50 yd line tickets to the fam if he didn't want to go himself. I may be in Florida but I still root for the Browns.. Down with Art Modell!!

I want to see one of Bruce's horses race. Hopefully he will have an entry.

I don't normally get involved in the food threads, but for all you Hough Bakery fans out there I was told by a reliable source that the baker who created the traditional "Hough cakes" and worked there for 25 years is still in business making the cakes under another name. Or he's working for another bakery. Anyhow the cakes can be purchased at:

Archie's Lakeshore Bakery at 14906 Lakeshore Blvd. Phone is 216-481-4188

If this has been mentioned before in this forum my apologies.

Bill,
You're exactly right. I've had the cakes, but it was about 5 years ago. I understand that he is still doing it. They were wonderful, just like when Hough Bakery was around.

Scott Poffenberger (Poffenberger)

Ahhh.... Hough's...

What I miss most are the triangular rolls that Hough made. They were slightly sweet, sort of like hallah (or babka, as my Ukrainian wife calls it) except they were white and sprinkled w/ a very fine flour.

My mother would slice them in half and stuff them w/ this really special ham and swiss cheese and then warm them in the oven. She called them "scones" although they were certainly not scones as I have them today...

They were and still are the best ham sandwiches I've ever eaten.

Count me in for the California reunion, because I still have relatives out there...what an excuse to go visit!

Clare Kelemen

yay! Bonnie, I wish you still lived here by me! Yvonne Raway lives in SD and I joke we only see each other every 10 years in Cleveland! Anymore Easterners/Midwesterners for west coast 45th reunion?

For those of us attending the 40th in October perhaps we can get a picture of the "message forum" participants. It's almost like we are a subculture. "Born to be wild..." (or goofy!?)

Val where does your mom live and exactly when will you be here?

05/25/09 11:05 PM #1673

Val Iberall (O'Connor)

Clare, my mom lives in Laguna Woods and I'll be out there in July sometime, I haven't made reservations yet, still trying to figure it out. I haven't had time to do your photos yet, I have some others to do also, my husband has been home all week and I haven't had a chance to work on the site hardly at all. I'll start making a dent tomorrow.

My sister lives in Laguna Hills and her youngest son is being Bar Mitzvahed this June, but financially I could not swing $1350 to fly for 4 days. 2 of those days would be flying there and back. I saw Yvonne one time a years, on her birthday only. She sees Lucy Chan on their birthdays only as well.Where does Patti Myers live and what is she doing?

Clare:
You think of me as "almost bi"? I don't think the statements almost bi or almost pregnant are correct.

I hope you meant "near by". I have 5 children and have never been called that term before.

Let's not get any rumors started.
