Susan Isakovitz (Markowitz)

Hey Guys,
I'm sure we are all feeling our "mortality" having lost two amazing people who so shaped our lives, musically and emotionally cuz we all wanted to either be them or know them! I remember feeling that overwhelming disconnection at Hts. also and it was worse for me cuz I spent my 9th grade year at Wiley after having all of my life connections at Roosevelt, which was way less competitve and snobby, sorry Wiley guys! Anyway it is so GREAT to be talking to everyone again this way! A little intimadating at first but I got my feet wet! Having all of your "old" friends really takes you back to who we really are and all the WONDERFUL people who made life so much more fun and bearable. I can't wait to see Clare again this Sunday, whoo hoo and hopefully will get to do the same with Joel!

Facebook for kids of the 69 class-awhile ago someone mentioned a kids connection would be nice----today my daughter coaxed me into joining facebook---but more importantly my kids are on and anyone who wants their kids to meet mine check facebook ---ours kids can connect on facebook--lets start as happy things can happen--it would be nice if the kids of our class connected.

Sinai Synagogue

Canter Wagner and Rabbi Isadore Pickholtz

The females were actually separated from the men in the services.

Wouldn't happen today.

Yeah -mitch -I lived directly across the street from Sinai. My grandma , aunt, and uncle were members of Sinai.
splitting men and woman was interesting, they may still do that in Brooklyn NY.But today you are correct not as existant and splitting men and woman would be hard.
I was friends with one of the Pickholtz----good memory Mitch---I was Bar Mitzvah at Park Synagogue, how bout you

I also seem to have more memories from Jr.High (Roosevelt)than High School. I made alot of my friends through Park Synagogue. We all hated Hebrew School together. I do, however, remember Heights Temple dances. Girls on one side, boys on the other. We primped forever & agonized over what to wear. But as long as the bow over my bangs matched my tights I was cool enough! I had planned to go to the last get together at Fisher's but I forgot. My children say "How will they know if I have alzheimers - I never remember anything now!" When & where is the next one?

I've just recently weaned him from his habitual haunts... Tavco, O'Reilly's, Primo Vino...

Tonight was Academy Tavern... Not bad... Last week was Lemongrass... Not good...

Suggestions, please?

Last night Susan and I had cocktails on our patio and listened to Michael Jackson songs for 3 hours. We danced, sang, laughed, and cried. A great evening and a great farewell tribute to a wonderful but troubled performer who greatly enriched all of us.

This morning I rode my bike down to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to pay tribute to Michael Jackson. I sat outside listening to the Michael Jackson songs playing through the outdoor speakers; brought back many memories. He will truly be missed.

We all miss Michael Jackson.

But how about Farrah. Charlie's Angel, Mrs. Lee Majors, and the wonderful TV documentaries as she battled with cancer.

I am sure many of us guys oogled and many of you gals copied her "big hair".

Just an FYI...I was a "Roosevelt Girl" who did NOT have the Beatles (or anyone else for that matter) on their notebooks. I had a plain blue looseleaf notebook.

BUT Chuck...I also did a "how to" presentation in English class. I (wisely) chose to tell how to assemble a hoagie sandwich. I brought all the ingredients and assembled the sandwich which I then gave to the teacher. I think that was the only A I got all term. Who was that teacher (classroom was opposite the entrance to the auditorium...right in the front hall).

Michael Jackson did so much in the area of pop music. But in the end, he really had "issues". It's a shame because he was a huge talent before he sort of went south.

Farrah Fawcett certainly was notable during her time on Charlie's Angels, and through the couple of made for TV drama movies she did. It's unfortunate Jackson died the same day. She didn't deserve to be second fiddle to him.

Aloha from Hawa....I mean San Diego! I just came from LA to see my mummy, and I also saw Susan Isakowitz Markowitz and hubby Harry (39 yrs wed!). We couldn't stop saying..."do you remember....." constantly!!! Harry was saying that all we talked about was 7th grade. What about the rest? There were tons of rest, but I came away realizing that those of us from Roosevelt had a very special growing up time that seemed to be very strong in those years at Roosevelt. Heck even Papas Bag started with my peeps at Roosevelt...Jim Polster (where are you on this forum?)my first Roosevelt slow dance partner, Louie, the first and only honker spitter in my hair!!! Good times....special times. It was like seeing family seperated for decades reconnecting. Since we're only 2 hours away we both promised that will never ever happen again! My mom had a great time too! You're next Joel!!

I've always said this CHHS site and especially this forum is a gift....a gift that keeps on giving!!
Love you all!! (Even honker spitting Louie!)

lIVING IN fLORIDA, i WEAR BOAT SHOES ALOT. DIDN'T THINK OF IT MUCH TILL I GOT AN E-MAIL FROM MY DAUGHTER. SHE TOOK MY 4 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER AUDREY TO AN ART FAIR IN PHILADELPHIA WHERE SHE LIVES THIS WEEKEND. AUDREY SAW SOME TWENTYSOMETHING KID WEARING BOAT SHOES LIKE MINE AND SHE TOLD THE KID HE HAD SHOES JUST LIKE HER GRANDPA. HE THANKED HER AND KEPT WALKING WITH CONSIDERABLY LESS BOUNCE IN HIS STEP. HOW TO SCREW UP A KIDS DAY. I LOVE IT.
