Jim and I sure had some fun - and trouble - together. I remember in German class - not our best subject, he sat behind me. Tapped me on the shoulder one time. When I turned around, he sprayed me in the mouth with Binaca. When I gagged, we both got in trouble. He owed me $5, so he xeroxed a $5 bill and gave it to me. I think I still have that. Too young.
I remember Jim very well. He was one of the first boys that I went on a "real date" with. I will never forget Jim's big smile and big heart. I am sure he will be missed by some of the girls in our class, and especially my me. If anyone knows when and how he passed away, I would really like to know. My thoughts are with him!!!
For those of us who played guitar, Jimmy was the go to guy to figure out the songs from the records. He had an uncanny ability to discern the correct chords. Lost touch with him after about 1971, You could give him a stack of 45's over the weekend, and by monday morning he was showing us how to play the tunes he had figured out. Amazing.
Jim was one of my favorite people. We used to make beautiful music together and I would sing harmony to our improvised songs.Jim on guitar and me on piano! We maintained contact to the day he died. He lived in Alaska and was married to another musician and they made a living playing and singing around Alaska. I saw Jim 6 months prior to his death, and it was a painful shock to lose him. His loving and optimistic spirit always inspired me. I lost a very close friend and he is dearly missed.
