FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN TOURING OUR ALMAMATER IT WILL BE JULY 2ND INFORMATION BELOW. IT IS FREE.
1) Guests may park in the adjacent parking lot if space allows. If full, guests should try the municipal lot across the street, or street parking on Washington Boulevard.
2) Guests should arrive NO EARLIER THAN 9:50am and use the new “student” entrance off of the parking lot. The entrance is on the east side of the building facing Goodnor. The old "main entrance" that faces Cedar Road will not be open.
3) We gather everyone for an introduction and brief initial questions and answers. Here, guests are given a map and an insert with details about the building for self-guided touring. The map suggests a walking route, but guests are invited to see whatever they are most interested in over the next 45 minutes.
4) At approximately 10:50, we'll meet in the hallway outside of the main auditorium for anyone who would like to explore the upper floors (which requires stairs). Those most interested may go all the way to the 4th floor to see the choral area. We often take a class photo at this moment, before heading up, as not everyone wishes to go to the upper floors.
5) On occasion, there are other activities going on in the building that may restrict access to certain parts of the building. There may be special requirements (such as social distancing, or masks required) pending the specific district rules at the time of the visit. Please do not bring food or drinks into the building.
6) All guests must exit the building by 11:45am. We encourage people to exit to the courtyard facing Cedar to view the brick installation and other artifacts. But, once people exit this way, they cannot re-enter the building. People are welcome to walk the grounds or return to cars at that point.
