Comments:
I worked as a grocery clerk until 1956, when I joined the Navy. I met Judith ( a John Adams grad ) after boot camp. We were married in 1958, and she has tolerated me ever since. Along the way we had two sons, one born in Tennesee and the other in Texas, and have lived in Maryland, Tennesee, California, Texas, Rhode Island, and for the past 37 years, Jacksonville Florida. My jobs in the Navy varied widely, from Radio operator on cargo planes to electronics technician, electronics instructor, ASW aircrewman, data analyst, aircraft maintenance chief, and even one short tour as the Chief Master at Arms at Pensacola. The Navy also sent me to junior college for two years, allowing me to get an associates degree, which greatly helped me find work when I retired from the Navy after 24 years.
After my Navy retirement I went to work for Ohio Medical Products as a field service rep, maintaining life support equipment in North Florida and South Georgia for 17 years. I then went "in house" for another 5 years at my former largest customer, Baptist Medical Center, the hospital located at the South end of the St. Johns River bridge on Interstate 95 in Jacksonville. I retired for the third and final time from that job just in time to observe 9-11 at home.
I now spend my time with fishing, yard work, home maintenance, working out at the gym and going to Florida State football games ( our oldest son graduated from there as well as Florida ) We put the RV on the road here in Florida in the Summer, after all of the "Snow Birds" have gone home.
Judith and I both now enjoy good health, but 2007 was a bad year for me. In December of 07 I had to have the heart replumbed ( 3 bypasses and a stent ) The rehab went well, and is the reason I go to the gym so much, to keep the old ticker in shape.
In July of 2016 we moved to Orlando, Fl. to be near our oldest son.
