Tyrone (Hunt) Shabazz

Attended Tri-C for two years, and a trimester at Capital University. Worked in several media outlets locally, including: Cleveland Press, Mt. Pleasant Courier, East Side Daily News, the Call and Post, the Akron Courier, and Nueve Horizontes.

I never married, nor have I made any babies, that I know of -SMILE! I continue to live in Cleveland. I have lived in both Marion, and in Charleston, South Carolina, where I worked for a while in radio and in the newspaper business.
I have also served time in the U. S. military as a Naval Reservist, for 8 years.

Time has changed me somewhat. I have mellowed out a bit. I have now learned to choose my battles.

I attended Bolton Elementary school, Rawlings Junior High, and John Adams high. You know, each one of those schools were eventually raised. I don't know what that says of me or those of you that attended those same schools, but I did n't have anything to do with it. Honestly, It was n't me!

You know, the biggest education that I have received in this life has been post formal school settings. In my attempt to learn beyond the basic skills of reading, writing and arithmetic, life's experience has taught me the practicality
of my encounters. Reading, "The Mis-education of the Negro," by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, "Beyond The Mayflower," by Lerone Bennet, along with others, helped to point me into the direction of inner peace and self-development.
