Imani UCC has been blessed to receive a grant for The Timothy Project, a mentoring and internship program for black male sophomore and junior high school students who may be interested in a career in the skilled labor industry.

The Timothy Project 8-Week Program (June 14 - August 2, 2021)

Requirement for Students to apply:
1. Black male sophomore or junior in high school.
2. Lives in a single-parent-headed household.
3. Desires to learn more about the skilled labor industry and apprenticeship programs.
4. Willing to commit to the 8-week program which includes shadowing your mentor for six weeks, a day of workshops and lunch, and a closing recognition program for students and mentors.
5. Desire to make money during the 8-week program!
*Applications will be available for students beginning May 3, 2021. Open to all students who fit the criteria.

Requirement for Business Mentors
1. Black male contractor or business owner in the skilled labor industry.
2. Desire to provide guidance, wisdom, and knowledge regarding your area of expertise and to serve as a role model to the mentee.
3. Ability to commit to six weeks of mentoring for 12 hours a week (hours flexible).

*There is absolutely no cost to mentor a student! Students will receive pay through The Timothy Project.

Midway during the program students will have a day of workshops facilitated by local black businessmen, leaders, and contractors regarding the industry, job readiness, life skills, etc. If you are a black male business owner, leader, or contractor and would like to facilitate a one-hour workshop that you believe will help to impact the life of black male students in the program, please email your name, brief information about yourself, workshop you would like to facilitate, and a phone number to
