Hi Julia,

I was sure there.  I had that pic of the bus and passed it on to Pepe.  Thought it was me in the pic.  If not I was taking it.  I had the glasses back then. Happy New Year

Ciao Pat

Hi Julia & Pat,

Finally someone posts something about Eleanor's. As we remember, it was located accross the street from Cliffside Park's old Borough Hall at Jersey and Palisade Avenue. It was owned by the Ruggiero family. Eleanor, Larry (cigar) Steven (long time mailman in Cliffside) and Dennis. It was a great place to hang out and a refuge from cold winter nights. On those cold nights when you walked in, you were in a haze of cigarette and cigar smoke and you could hear the pinball wizards racking up points in the back. Eleanor had a short fuse for people who shook the pinball machines too hard, sat on the ice cream freezer or didn't buy anything.

Here are some nicknames from that crowd see if you remember who they were. Maybe you remember others.

Dent Man, Egor, Peaches,  Harry, Rollo, The Governor, Eel, Steve the Plumber, Karate Joe, Bone man, Larry Meeks, and Card. Later on Joe Boot and Miami hung out there.

Did someone say Consoli's ?

Ding Ding Ding ! Rich you win the prize!

The Messerschmitt KR200, or Kabinenroller (Cabin Scooter), was a three-wheeled bubble car designed by the aircraft engineer Fritz Fend and produced in the factory of the German aircraft manufacturer Messerschmitt from 1955 to 1964.
Here’s a picture of it:

Today's prize winner receives (when in the area) a free slice of pizza AND a glass of Coke.

Congratulations.

Ihr Deutsch ist fein mein freund, dank!
