Since we started this adventure, I have been having flashbacks back in time.

Visual, tactile, auditory and olefactory (that's smell!). Just who were the Ria Boys and the Bandits? It was sort of our Rat Pack of CPHS....no girls allowed.

Who knows and who was in the group?

G - I think it's a secret that we're not supposed to talk about!  But my husband and Pepe had a discussion about the Bandits, and Sean nicknamed them "the gang with a curfew" since they all had to be home when their mothers told them to!  Sal's Pizza - home of the Ria Boys!

The original Bandits were me, Joe Adami, Tommy Vitello, Richie Caroluso and Jerry Ferguson.  We had a lot of other guys who were not such derilects, such as Leggio, Bruce Bono, Rego, etc.  The Sottolano brothers migrated down to Eleanor's at that time.

The Ria Boys were the same group, only we hung and the Ria at night or indoors there in the winter.  This group included some of the guys from '67 & '68 also, and some of us hung inside the Peanut Bar just next door too.

I'll never forget the night someone was giving Joe Adami a hard time.  too bad for the kid as he was a lot smaller than Joe.  Adami proceeded to march the kid (name withheld) across the street to the laundromat.  Joe stuffed the kid into the large dryer and put a quarter in.  We all got dizzy watching the kid go around in circles!  Hey, don't mess with the Ria Boys!!!

It was December '71 that I came to the Peanut Bar - probably the last time I saw Pepe before we reunited about 12 years ago (in '97).  The PB had a diverse and colorful night crowd - BTBT (aka Bobby the Bartender), Dennis "The Crow" (a former Sun & Surf Club lifeguard), the Bruno Boys (John and Vinny), John Cazz and Mel (the Caraluzzo Bros), Dennis Moleta, a handful of Cresskil people and a few Fort Lee people.  Occasionally, John Capuzzi would come in and a few of Cliffside's self-proclaimed enforcers.  But mostly, it was a peaceful crowd - 25 cent Tequila shots and Grateful Dead Tuesdays!!!  I ran into a lot of our classmates at one time or another - turbulent times, those early 70s...  "Stop the War!"

Does anyone remember the guy with the T-bird(hard top convertible) that used to hang there too!  He was quite a bit older then us.  Can't remember his name.  And don't forget Trevor Sherwood!!!!!!!!   LOL

Hey Donna - Are you thinking of JOHN Capuzzi?  But John drove a yellow Chevy Malibu convertible back then.  I wonder if John is related to Dominick??

I got to hang withJoey, Pepe and "Michael" last night for a quick catch-up.  It's always a good laugh when we get together -- see you again Saturday night!

Hey Terie, Your right, it was John, and I knew it was a yellow convertible,  no idea  if he and Dominick are related...   No mention of the candy store... Volks...  Remember when the candy store was owed by the Davis'... They got so nervous with the lunchtime crowd (PS4 and Epiphany),  they would lock the door and we had to wait on line to get into that fire hazard....

Dom did have a brother. He was in the same class as my brother, Vic. Class of 1965. I will ask him on Facebook.
