Easy Rider Posted Monday, September 14, 2009 04:38 PM Does anyone remember watching Easy Rider for the first time? I think it mostly gave me the sense of wanting to explore the country. In 1972 Tom Gernegliaro (popeye '71) traveled around the country for 5 months, not with classic Harleys but in a V W bus. I think we would of been categorized as "refugees from a gorilla love- in " by the people in the movie because we had long hair. Up until that point we watching Walt Disney, Ozzie and Harriet, My Three sons, etc. The movie was going great for first 90 minutes then in the last 5 minutes what happened?? Has anyone gone to Mardi Gras? I remember being really shocked when Louis died in a bike accident, but is there anyone out there still riding today? |

RE: Easy Rider Posted Monday, September 28, 2009 07:09 PM I had been riding with my two sons. My younger son, Lou is doing Nascar, so we try a few times a year to get together in NC. Has anyone driven 60mph track go-karts? |

RE: Easy Rider Posted Wednesday, September 30, 2009 07:28 AM I"ve been riding Harleys for the longest time now. I love taking long distance rides, seeing the country, after all, I spent all my childhood living in Fairview. Does anyone know why they called Fairview, Fairview? |

RE: Easy Rider Posted Wednesday, September 30, 2009 07:35 AM I built my first Harley after seeing Easy Rider. It was a basket case I bought from Sal Malvasia (does any remember him, older than us). The bike was named (Cannibus) after the weed. I remember my mother coming into the body shop and seeing it all over the floor and asking what I bought. I also remember having to stall it going down Delano place at night and gliding to my house as to not wake the neighbors and especially my father who would have kicked my ass. |
