Well, really since 1979. In 1979, I became director of the Marlboro County Improvement Committe.I trained and supervised tutors in the 11 Marlboro County elementary schools, organized and conducted Parent Education programs, and a summer arts and crafts program.
I moved to Columbia in the summer of 1979, along with my 2 daughters and a friend. I taught 5th grade in West Columbia for 2 years.
I married a physician in 1980 and became a stay at home mom for a few years. During that time I took modeling classes and had a son, Mac.
In 1985 I went to USC School of Law. I graduated in 1988 and have been practicing law ever since. First I was an Assistant County Attorny in Richland County (Columbia). Then I was an Assistant Solicitor (prosecutor) in Columbia for a year. Then I moved to Greenville, S.C. and opened a private law practice with my current husband. I had my last child Zac in 1993.
I practice predominantly family law, with perhaps 15% personal injury. I have practiced criminal defense, but now my husband handles that within our firm. I have also tried other types of case, such as an Unfair Trade Practices case that I won against Fannie Mae.
