Kara Bieber Gauthier

Hey Everyone! I actually live in Kenya, East Africa since April of 2005. But the address I use is a of a good family friend of ours in MN.
Since High School I went to Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, where I met my husband Shane. He is from Rochester, MN. After college I went to Honduras to work at a Christian school for 1yr. 98' that was the year Hurrican Mitch hit Honduras, with lots of force. School were closed in Nov. of 98' Which caused me to return to WI and then Shane and I got engaged and were married Aug. of 1999. I lived in Rochester for awhile where the famous "Mayo Clinic" is located and I got a job there for 2 years as a phlebotomist (drawing blood). The most famous patient I drew blood on was Billy Graham. (a Christian Evangelist) Then my family went back to Honduras in 2001 until 2003 as youth workers in an international church. By then I had two sons, Gabe and Abe. In 2003-2005 we were back in Rochester,MN until God led us to an opportunity to work with a Christian NGO in Kenya, Africa. We serve communities here, by providing education, medical clinic, and a church. By meeting needs of education and medical assistance we try to share the love of Christ that gives us hope in this world. We work with really poor people, yet they are so happy with the simply lives they lead. We always feel like God is teaching us so much more about love, contentment, and joy from the simple lives that the Kenyan people live. In America we think we need all this stuff/money to entertain us or make us happy, but truly we can have joy in knowing and serving Jesus. It is a joy like no other.

During lunch hour Bobby Westburg was playing basketball and somehow hit his head. We thought he was just wiggling his body around to make us laugh, but then we started to see saliva come out of his mouth and then he started looking a bit purple. Ms. Beamer ran over and made us all clear away, b/c he really bumped his head hard and was actually having a real siezure. At first we just thought he was trying to make us all laugh! (which we did, until we realized it was actually a serious injury, but thank God he was okay!)

Jamie Pillath (Kangas) Remember how we'd always talk about the hocky players we ran into that nite in Marinette when we broke down in Angie Meyers car (that Angie's sister was actually driving b/c we weren't able to yet)? Then Eddie Lansin tried to help us with the car at the gas station.
Also remember that tire we just saw randomly rolling down the road from Mr.Smiths class window?
