Gayle Smith The classmate deaths are so overwhelming. I am forced to take a look at my life and see what I can do to be healthier. I can't imagine these young souls without me. I love then so much. They are so perfect. We just give them the imperfections and I do not want to do that.

********* GIRLS DAY OUT FROM NICKI WARD *************
Hey ladies! How bout a girls day out? Gold Rush Days are in Dahlonega Oct 17 and 18. It's really nice, they block off the square and have everything you can imagine! (Yes, ...even wine tasting!) We will gather at the Mancave Sunday am (Oct. 18) and make a day trip out of it. It takes about an hour, 45 mins to drive up so we can do it in one day. Figured it's opening weekend of deer season and the guys would be in the woods....so the girls need to do something! Feel free to tell whoever...you know we're a friendly bunch!! Y'all think about it and let me know... the leaves are beautiful this time of year up there too! Oh yeah...if y'all want...we could do lunch at the winery where Marcus works. Let me know....love y'all!! Nicki

Hey Eagles!! I spoke with Colette Wayda this morning and she asked me to post this information on the forum regarding her son Brandon. Saturday evening Brandon was run over by a drunk driver in Newnan. He suffered a crushed pelvis, a collapsed lung and other injuries as well. He is currently in ICU at Atlanta Medical Center and had his first surgery yesterday to repair the pelvis. I talked to her this morning and she said that the surgery went well, but that he could be in ICU up to 2 weeks!! I will call again tonite and get an update so I can keep you all posted. We all know what the power of prayer from the '78 class can do....so please keep Colette, Brandon and their family in your prayers!! Love to all, Kelli

Had my daughter check on Brandon (Collette's son) all she could tell me was that he was in ICU in a room and that he would be there for a while as his body heals! I talked with Kim McNeely Dawson, she told me that Brandon was run over because he was protecting his girlfriend? The guy that ran over him was totally out of control. Brandon is very lucky, he could have been killed... Blessings come in all ways!

Thanks to all for the thoughts and prayers, they are working. Brandon is out of ICU. Chest tube was pulled on Saturday and he was able to go to a private room, which was really important so that he could see his son, who is 4 months old tomorrow. He has a long road ahead of him, one more surgery at least, but he will walk again. He is strong and determined not to let this get him down. We are so grateful that he survived this, the doctors say he was really lucky. He is learning how to get into a wheelchair today and will have to be in it for about four months. He jokes that he will be learning to walk with his son! Thanks again for all the concern. Will keep you all updated.
