
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah (Debbie) Adelbush. After a strong battle with ovarian cancer, Debbie passed away August 30th, 2024.
Debbie was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to Lionel and Roberta Robertson. Though born in Texas, Debbie spent the majority of her life in Colorado Springs, CO, graduating from Harrison High School. She devoted her entire career to serving and protecting her community in Colorado Springs.
Debbie worked for both the El Paso County Sheriff's Office and the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) and was a decorated officer, earning 4 medals of valor and numerous other honors over the course of her career. After retiring from CSPD, Debbie continued working with Adult Protective Services, fighting against abuse of the elderly. She was deeply passionate about helping others and through her work, Debbie touched countless lives.
Debbie was a loving wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother, and a caring, dependable friend. Together with her husband, Kurt, Debbie constantly sought opportunities to make memories with friends, family, and loved ones.
Debbie is preceded in death by her mother, Roberta Robertson, her son, Andy Cope, and granddaughter Makennah Cope. She is survived by her husband Kurt Adelbush, father Lionel (Yvonne) Robertson, 2 brothers Bill (Lorin) and Marty Robertson, her children Martin Cope, Scott Cope (Tara), Lee Cope, and Summer (Andrew) Slama, her grandchildren Taytum, Channing, Ro, Marty, and June. https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/legacyremembers/deborah-adelbush-obituary?id=56440707
