It was the eighth grade library hour when I met Peant. I had only recently moved to Columbia from Baton Rouge.  I was unconcsciously making some tapping noise with my pencil, while reading, and happened to look up to see Peanut attempting to get my attention.  He did, and warned me, just before the librararian (whom I do not recall) arrived at my place.  I stopped, and she stopped.  Peanut introduced himself following class, and he was my first friend in Columbia.  RIP Peanut.

Peanut always seemed to be upbeat and happy.  He was a good friend to all who knew him.  It was a joy to be around him, and I have fond memories of his being a classmate of mine.  Sincere sympathy to his family.

Sincerely,

Beverly Berry Willingham
