Edmonds Martin

Edmonds "Eddie" Bishop Martin, 35, of Spike Lane, Vale, died Aug. 5, 2005.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at Living Word in Maiden. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Columbia, S.C.

A native of Ogden, Utah, he served over 15 years in the L.P. division of J.B. White/Belk department stores. He attended Living Word Church. He formerly attended Forest Drive Baptist Church in Columbia, S.C.

Survivors include his wife, Stefanie B. Martin of the home; a son, Ethan Martin of the home; a brother, Artie Martin; a sister, Larrysa Martin; a grandfather, Bernard Edmonds; and a grandmother, Frohnie Martin.

Memorials may be made to Pershing FBO, Ethan Martin, attn: Dianne P. Odom, One Harbinson Way, suite 222, Columbia, S.C. 29212-3422.

Burke Mortuary in Maiden is serving the Martin family.

I did find out from one of his co-workers that he died of Pancreatic Cancer. I believe they found it too late.

As a close friend to Martin family I attended the funeral services for Eddie and talk with his older brother Artie every few months. Eddie put up a good fight and had made some progress before his passing.The rate of survival with his condition has very few happy endings. He has a wounderful son who is very much like his dad.

My best memories of Eddie were "Early Bird" english with Mr. Roof our senior year and hanging out at lunch time even though we were done with classes for the day.

Rest in peace Eddie....
