Ater I graduated high school, I took one year off. I then worked at Bi-Lo starting out as a bagger, moving up to cashier, and then eventually landed in the deli/bakery. There, I learned about fruit and vegtable trays and how to decorate cakes. In fall of 2003 my family and I moved to Denver, North Carolina. In 2005 in persue of my cake decorating interests, I took local classes to become certified in this area. Now, I am technically a certified cake decorator. I do not get the chance much to practice or hone in on my skills as this can be a very expensive hobby and not every cake is uniform. I also lost some hearing due to the noise in the deli/bakery. I work at my church as a Sunday School teacher, and help out where needed. I also try to help out at home as not every job is for me. I worked for The UPS Store for 10 months during 2008 and just lacked the necessary skills to keep employed. I have many diffrent skill sets and try to use them as they are given or provided when needed.

School Story:

I would not say that this is a school story persay. I would say that what I am about to write is more about memories than anything else. What I remember about Richland Northeast High School and our class, is that everyone knew when someone was not there. I remember the loss of Amanda Erlich's father and how everyone just felt and prayed to rally around her. I remember participating in theatre and auditioning for TAG (Talented and Gifted) Drama. The day I auditioned, I told my mom that I had to stay late for tutoring. I wasn't planning to get in. I just wanted the experience of audtioning to help me improve my skills and see what would happen. Lo and Behold, I got in and spent both Junior and Senior year in TAG. We went to several competions and I placed as Excellent in the Make-Up category for one going as the "Queen of Hearts" from Alice in Wonderland. The other, I had a monologue where I placed second. Those memories of theatre are what kept me going through school. By Junior year I had an English project that required me to write a "mock" letter to a "mock" CEO, or some other Executive Professional. This "letter" I wrote, was about people with disabilities and how we should be treated for who we are and not what we look like. It was published in the school paper that year and I was on the newspaper during senior year. One of the articles I wrote, was on Epilepsy. During that time I suffred from Epilepsy and was on the most subtheraputic dose. 200 mg per day. No one could understand how that little amount was still working for me. I remember hiding and not wanting much interaction with people. Maybe it is because I was afraid of who I was, what I might say, or what other people might think of me. What I remember is everyones acts of kindnesses and relationships that we had with one another. High School was a pretty awesome memory. The acceptance and looking out for one another. This is what it meant to be a part of the "Cavalier Family"
