Hi everyone,
Sorry I missed the reunion. My grandpa died a few days before the reunion, and I needed to be with my family. Please post some pictures so I can see how much fun I missed.

Check out Kent's mullet and Jill's big hair on their profiles. I know a few others of us had similar hair, so let's show some 80's spirit and share the bad hair pics.

In honor of Jimmy John's birthday. . . My favorite Jimmy John memory.

It was recess. 6th grade. A heated football game was in full swing. Recess was nearly over. The pressure was on. SOMEone had to lead our team to victory. I felt I was the proper choice. Jimmy John felt HE was the proper choice. When the ball was snapped I got the ball and heaved a long bomb to someone. . . the years have obscured the name of the receiver. The ball was snagged. Victory was ours.

Except that Jimmy John had "called quarterback". And, not in a celebratory spirit, approached me. Like most 6th graders, I was a good solid 5', 100 pounds of twisted steel and sex appeal. . . UNLIKE most 6th graders, Jimmy was 6'5" and weighed 250. Possibly the years have magnified him in my mind, but he SEEMED about that size.

"I called QB Fu%&#er," he roared (i swear on my mothers name he actually roared. . . like a bear). . . stalking me.

"We won! I just threw a touchdown!" I responded defensively.

He continued his slow advance. He was looming larger and larger, filling my field of vision with malice, wearing god's anger on his brow, face red, eyebrows knitted, veins throbbing on his forehead.

I ran. I ran inside the school and i pulled the door shut and locked it and I flipped him off.

It was a super proud moment in my life. Cause I'm super brave like that.

Jimmy, I'm sorry it's taken me 26 years to apologize. It was selfish of me to take the ball. I'm sorry. You're right. You DID call it. Happy Birthday.

*flips him off and runs*

I just realized I spelled Jimmie's name wrong about a thousand times.

Jim, you crack me up. I laughed my ass off with your post.
I often wish I would have grown up with you guys so I could have had those memories from far back. You guys might not realize it, but you are lucky to have those life long connections.
Take care.

So. . . you're saying I'm a grown-up?

WOOHOO!!!

Oh Jim, I am so sorry if I misled you. I absolutely never intended to infer that you were a grown up. I wouldn't want you to get all high and mighty thinking you were worthy of that status. However, once the jerk at Toys R US asks YOU if you are buying toys for your grandkids as he did me, I would assume you are a grown up. And just for the record, that guy was stupid!

Happy Birthday Jim! I know it is your special day, but try not to flip off anyone as big as Jimmie John, no matter how fast you can run.
