JULY 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Simon James McChesney at the tender age of 3 on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. Simon was born on June 26, 2021.
Simon was a beacon of joy and energy. Funny and outgoing, he was eager to make friends with anyone he met. For three years, his laughter filled the family home. He wholeheartedly loved his twin brother and best friend, Sullivan, often leading the charge in their silly and spontaneous fun. He was a beloved little brother to his sister Emory, and his patience and care for his older brother, Landon, were a testament to his kind and loving nature. In addition to his siblings, Simon is survived by his parents, Michael and Jaren (Woodland) McChesney; his grandparents, James and Christine Woodland, Charlene McChesney, Doug (Victoria) McChesney; uncles, Jimmy (Nicole) Woodland, Jason (Cori) Woodland, Jimmy (Kristin) McChesney, Steven (Holly) McChesney; and many cousins and friends.
In all this world, there is nothing so beautiful as a happy child, and Simon was the happiest of them all. We go forward, carrying his love of life in us always and mending our broken hearts by taking every opportunity to find joy.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, July 22 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 1559 Roxbury Road, Columbus, Ohio 43212 followed by a private interment ceremony for the family.
As Chris and her husband Jim along with their daughter Jaren and husband Mike mourn the loss of this precious soul, Simon, please keep their entire families in your thoughts and prayers.

Update – Helen Sherry
Helen’s care team believes she has entered a healing phase. They believe her serious eye infection has resolved, although continued vigilance is needed. Her migraines have dissipated and other pain that she was experiencing has diminished as well. This is very good news.
Your thoughts and prayers for her continued recovery will be meaningful.

No one could have expected all the deaths and hardships that the world is still experiencing from this pandemic. By letting God know our concerns we show Him that we do believe. Ask Him to give strength to our bodies, our hearts, and our minds. To Bless all of those people who work unselfishly to heal and help those affected by the virus. To Bless those who are providing safety for our country. To Bless all who work because their jobs are considered essential. Pray that there will soon be a vaccine to eradicate this respiratory illness.

We recently heard that Maryann Marcinko (Keckley) is now residing in a nursing home as she suffers from the effects of "PLS" (Primary lateral sclerosis). She is unable to walk or to speak. Maryann spent her grade school years at Holy Name and left Watterson to finish her senior year at Hartley. Her heart has always been with her classmates from both schools. She attended most of the reunions for Watterson and Holy Name. Please think of her in your prayers and take a moment a write her a note - her family said she loves to get mail.
