Reaver, Daniel S. "Woody"   1947-2020

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Daniel "Woody" S. Reaver, 73, of St. Louisville was held in the chapel at Resurrection Cemetery, Columbus , on Monday January 4, 2021, with Msgr. John Cody as celebrant.  Dan, a parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church, died at Licking Memorial Hospital on Monday, December 28, 2020.  He was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 27, 1947, to the late Randy and Marcella (Salisbury) Reaver.  A graduate of Watterson High School, Dan attended The Ohio State University and studied Philosophy.  He was retired from the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation where he worked for many years as a training officer.  Dan was a lover of fine art and music, especially enjoying the classical genre.  He held a passion for learning and enjoyed playing chess.  He will be greatly missed by his wife of 40 years, Linda (Shaver) Reaver: children Angela Gabriel, Rachel (Chad) Newsom, Kelly Reaver (Randy), and Paul Joseph (Kelly) Reaver; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, David Reaver; several nieces and nephews; and his wife's siblings and their families.  In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Michelle Reaver.  Memorials in Dan's name can be made to the Licking County Humane Society.  Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, is assisting the family with arrangements.  To leave a condolence for the family or share a memory of Dan, please visit www.reedegan.com.
