Still Crazy After All These Years

School Story:

Was in the Band. Other than that, I was pretty quiet. Kept with a group of 3 others, but had many friends.

What have you always wanted to do that you haven't done yet?

Be Sane? Nah, that's not me. Nothing, I guess.

Still have family in the Judson area?

I'M still in the Judson area!

What did you do after high school?

Tried college, didn't work out. Worked, that didn't work out. Got married, that didn't work out. Now on Social Security, they're reviewing my case~watch, THAT won't work out either!

Trying to get VA Disability for my mental health issues...waiting on my military records to refile...it will probably take another ten years, but I'm willing to stick it out this time. Wish me luck!

Nicknames in school:

None that I know of

Nicknames now:

Barb, Hey You, Babwa

How many grandchildren?

None

What do you do in your spare time?

Play in Facebook, Play in Paint Shop Pro, Play with dog, help mother with watching Chloe (Late sister Laura's daughter), run errands, watch TV, go to/watch Dog Shows

Jobs:

None now. Too many before to list~I'm one of those that gets bored easily, must be my ADD

High points of your life since high school:

Got Married. Got DIVORCED!!
Got my dog for my birthday in 2002.
Been clean and sober since 1999.
That's it. My life is pretty boring...LOL

Anything you know now that you wish you knew then?

Drugs aren't the answer to everything.

Alcohol isn't the answer to everything.

I don't need to be in a relationship to be happy.

You can lose your loved ones and life will still go on, although you'll lose a piece of your heart each time you have to say goodbye forever.

What would we be surprised to know about you?

I've been clean and sober since 99.

I had Hepatitis C, which has been in remission since 2005.

I'm totally not the same person I was in High School...I've had too many things happen to me to be the same at all.

What kind of vehicle did you drive? Any special stories concerning that car/truck/van, etc.?

I drive a 99 POS Suzuki Esteem. I got that car when I totalled my 2002 Kia Rio (the accident was NOT my fault, I'm actually a pretty good driver). This car will be mine until I have to bury it in the junk yard~can't afford another one.

Who was your favorite band?

Little Feat

What was the best concert you ever attended?

Oh gosh, they all were so good (except for Foghat...LOL)

I guess one of the best would have to be KISS, or AC/DC, or Queensryche...it's too hard to pin one down!

Finally pinned one down! I saw Little Feat when they were reincarnated as Chicken Legs (what a name, huh). I had such a good time, I know I'll never go to another concert and have so much fun again. I wish Richie Hayward (the drummer) all the best as he fights Liver Cancer. I follow his progress on his Care Page. His lovely wife updates us on his progress. It's kind of sad, having been through the treatment with Laura, but at least I know the stages of chemo, so I know what to expect.

If anyone would like to follow his progress, please visit:

You'll need to open an account, but it's free, and you can leave him a message.

What were your favorite movies or TV shows?

Were? OMG...Charlie's Angels? Chips?

I don't remember all the stuff that was on back then!

Have you ever traveled to any exotic locales?

LOL does Korea count?

Have any pet peeves about life/people you'd like to discuss?

I would, but I'm trying to keep things clean here!

Ever met any famous or notable people?

I met the members of U2 back in 1982, right after two concerts here when they were just starting out. They had put out their second album and were touring to promote it. I saw them here at Randy's Rodeo and got their autographs, then saw them the next night in Austin (someone stole them, so I don't have them any more.)
Back then they were really sweet guys, not like they are now, thinking they're all that. Although I do have to admit, their music is still pretty good, albeit it's evolved into the pop/rock realm, which I really don't like that much.
