Sad news. Kathi and I were very close in high school and several years following. I was in her wedding and my daughter was her flower girl. As we married, had our kids, we both moved out of the Coon Rapids area and eventually drifted apart. No social media back then! We did reconnect at the 35 year class reunion in 2008. That was a great night for us to laugh, reminisce and share fond memories. Kathi had a brain tumor resected and had a partial vision loss. She had a recurrence several years later and another surgery at the Mayo Clinic and now was legally blind, seeing almost nothing. Her overall health continued to decline and she had multiple comorbidities. Her famiy could no longer care for her on their own, and she spent the remainder of her life in a care facilitry in Annandale, MN, until she passed last Sunday.
