Jan Schulze (Hinger)

Jan Hinger, 58, of Jamestown, ND, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center. Jan Marie Schulze was born in Mankato, MN, to Ervin and Yvonne (Culp) Schulze. During her father’s military enlistment, the family lived in Mankato and grew to include her two sisters, Teresa (Fast) and Dawn (Hopkins). Upon moving to the Minneapolis area, her brother Jon was born. Jan and her family moved a couple of times and finally settled in Coon Rapids MN where Jan attended high school. In 1972, Jan’s father accepted a job offer from Colorado and moved his family. Jan followed her heart many times in different directions through the next several years. In 1973, Jan was blessed by her son, Robert Ketterman, Jr. Jan’s life had taken another direction in 1978 and her daughter, Tamara Kelley, was born. Jan found her soul mate in Jim Hinger by 1983 and would spend her next thirty years by his side. Jan and Jim shared adventures in Colorado and California, adding their son, James Hinger, Jr. to their life in 1985. Jan and Jim returned to Jamestown ND in 1990. Upon getting settled in, Jan was able to mainly focus on being Mom. Jan is survived by her children, Robert Ketterman, Colorado, Tami (Dan) Vickery, Jamestown, and James Richard Hinger, Jr., Wilton, ND; eight grandchildren; sisters, Teri Fast and Dawn Hopkins; brother, Jon Schulze; mother-in-law, Jessie Hinger, Fargo; brothers-in-law, William (Isabel), Portland, OR, Darrell (Amy), Fargo, ND, and Randall (Elisa), La Vergne, TN; and her puppies, Sabre, Balee, and Tiki. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

     Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Darren Purdy officiating.
