I've been married to Kenny Thomas (a 1970 Cooter High School Graduate) for 39 years now. We lived in Walnut Ridge and Jonesboro, AR while Kenny was in college. After he graduated from college, with and Accounting degree, he took a job with an accounting firm in Blytheville, where he worked from 1974 till 1979, then in 1979 he partnered with Jim Speight and together they started their own CPA practice in Blytheville, and we've been in this area ever since. In 1978 we moved to Cooter, where we lived for 12 years and then we moved back to Blytheville in 1990. All three of our sons attended school at Cooter and all graduated from Cooter and now 3 of our grandchildren are in school there, so we are still very much involved in the Cooter school system. We have 8 grandchildren and I hope they all get to graduate from Cooter High School!
I worked while Kenny was in College but after he graduated and began working I was pretty much a stay at home Mom which I absolutely loved. My children were my life and they still are. I knew I needed to find something to devote my time to when my kids all got out of school so in 1996, when my youngest son started his Senior year in High School, I started taking some photography classes at ASU in Jonesboro, then I took some classes in Atlanta and Memphis and then I bought me a professional camera, and equipment and started a career in photography, which I really, really love. I now have a studio and my oldest son Chris, who became a certified professional photographer last year, works with me at our studio in Blytheville.
I love living in Blytheville and being so close to my kids and grandkids, and having the privilege of still being involved so much with Cooter school, it's almost like I never left. It's home. I love it!
Can't wait to see everyone at the reunion.
