Working in Muscat, the capital of Oman. It is about a 4 hour drive to Dubai if that helps on the location. I have been in the Middle East for 13 years now and picked up some Arabic and I am finally taking formal classes to help out, it might be time to learn. I travel throughout the Middle East for work (Kuwait, Saudi, Bahrain, UAE, Jordan, Iraq(Kurdistan) and Yemen) and a little travel to Kazakhstan where you must pick up some Russian as the locals do not speak much English and are a little bit like rednecks when they find out you do not speak Russian(they just speak louder and slower as if that will help). I have been spending a lot of time in Kurdistan and I must thank the American Military for the excellent work there. Not only is it relatively safe but the Kurdish people like Americans (a rare thing sometimes in this part of the world).
