Shortly after graduation I joined the U.S. Navy for 6 years, where I studied Nuclear propulsion and Basic Electronics in Orlando Florida. Attended Naval Submarine School in New London Connecticut and upon completion I eventually got stationed at Naval Submarine Base Bangor Washington near Seattle. After more rate training I finally became a Fire Control Technician 3rd Class(E-4). I served for 6 patrols onboard a Ballistic Nuclear Trident Submarine, the U.S.S. Nevada SSBN 733. Primary duties were to operate and maintian the ships defensive weapons, command and control, and torpedo launch systems. I left the Navy in March of 1995, sadly the same day Selena passed away. Shortly after completing my Naval service I moved to Albuquerque NM. for 3 years to go work for Intel Corporation as a manufacturing tech and for Phillips Semiconductors as a vacuum pump technician. Lots of skiing and mountain biking during this time. 9 years was enough time away from family. In late 1998 I decided to finally move back to the Great State of Texas where I met up with my Mother and Sister in Austin where we have lived up to this point. It was great to be close to my immediate family again, we must have celebrated for two months straight by going out to eat constantly, I guess happiness can make you hungry. Coincidentally my first job in Austin, was with a company called Solectron Corp. where I met my wife Elizabeth, and so they say the rest is history. We've been together a little over 10 yrs now and things are going good. She works as a solder repair tech, and is an outstanding mother. I am currently working for a company called RenewData Corp. which focuses on electronic archive file recovery from backup tapes provided by clients. This data is processed using various types of software, and eventually becomes electronic evidence to be used for litigation purposes. No doubt one of the coolest jobs I've had considering what we do.
