School Story/Memory:
My Freshman Year, I was in Track / Cross Country - broke three records. My Junior Year (1987), I was diagnosed with Cancer - missed first half of the school year. I returned to school wearing a head scarf. My Senior Year, I was one of the nominated Hall of Fame and Super Buc of the Year recipients. I would have to say that friends and staff at Miller made a positive impact on my recovery; everyone was very supportive and understanding. I was told by a close friend of mine, Elizabeth Torres, that when students found out I had been diagnosed w/Cancer that they contributed their lunch money and what ever they had in their pockets - that was a Blessing.
My best friend was Caroline Guerrero.
I remember a class mate and friend that passed on. Died in an automobile accident. I think of him every now and then - Juan Carlos Hernandez.
