Bob was always a good sport. He took lots of guff from his ole friends.
Bob took whatever craft he desired, excelled in all fields he attempted. In the sixth grade he took up the violin. He was a great violinist and I enjoyed his beautiful music and still do. He played "The Lord's Prayer" at my wedding. It was so meaningful to me then and now.

Bob White and I were good friends at Ray. That friendship continued afterward, but we both moved away from Corpus, and we were not in contact so often. We gradually lost touch. In 1989, at a meeting in San Juan, Puerto Rico, I met the ten Mayor of Corpus Christi. We were exchanging names to see if we knew anyone in common, I mentioned Bob's father, Jack. The mayor said Jack was his lawyer. I told of friendship with Bob in high school, and he informed me of Bob's death. I later got in touch with Bob's mother Lynn. I had spent a lot of time in the White's household over the high school years, and loved them all.

Bob was a very cultivated person, interested in music and a skilled musician, he played with the Ray symphony orchestra. He had a gift for languages, mastered Spanish at Haveford College in Pennsylvania, where he lived at Spanish House. He travelled extensively after college in Spain. He was a gifted writer and a studied reader. He learned a lot about contemporary Latin American painting and in the years before his unfortunate death from cancer, he earned a living as a dealer in these paintings in New York.

Bob was a good and loyal friend, and I will miss him.
