Suzanne was a wonderful person who I shared home room with and also some classes.  Our last 50 year reunion was her first and she seemed to really enjoy herself.  She helped us contact others.   We will all miss her.   Thanks to Alice Schenk who provided us this  sad information and also the comments of one of her daughters.

This is what her daughter wrote on her facebook:

Today my mother died suddenly. My sister found her and called me over, we tried CPR and the ambulance came and took her to FWB medical but they couldn't bring her back. I am bereaved and completely at a loss. Suzanne Winston, my mother, was my rock, and this year has helped me tremendously dealing withthe sudden loss of a 17 year job, starting a new business and I don't know what I am going to ttototo do

Suzanne was the niece of My sisters husband Bill Winston and I worked for Her Father at Winston Plumbing for several years after graduation.  A great person and wounderful classmate, we talked about passed family times at the 50th reunion.  She will be missed by many.

Suzanne was my girlfriend during our senior year and freshman year of college. I guess it was just about the best teen romance a guy could ask for. Toward the end things just sort of faded away as we gradually lost interest. I've just learned that when an old flame dies it's a little different from the others; I was surprised at the volume of nostalgia and memories it triggered.

May she rest in peace.

Goodness! I was not aware Suzanne attended the last reunion ( just about oblivious, I am) and would have very much liked to have said hello. An opportunity lost.... I also dated Suzanne, I think in my junior year and will never forget those eyes. You can sing about Betty Davis all you want, but Suzanne's grey eyes were/are  unforgetable. Wonderful young lady and very sad to have passed.

Suzanne and I were best friends all through highschool and always at each others houses.  We were always on a diet and I remember a lot of red jello!  We emailed before the last reunion and vowed to stay in touch.  That was the last communication we had.  I am so sad that she's gone.  She was a great and fun friend with a very wise insight - even at that age.  I will always have fond memories of our friendship.

Susie and I were "dating" friends at about the time of the debut of "Wake Up Little Susie".  We shared a significant life experience when we double dated with John Large and a date he did not have the opportunity to pick up, because as he was driving south on Santa Fe, he swerved and avoided a car coming off Ropes and we rolled four times in the bar ditch (at that time) and landed upside down.  We did not have seat belts and as Susie and I got out of John's Nomad we were delirously happy to be alive and essentially not injured!

In advance of our last reunion, Susie (Suzanne) was excited to take responsibility for personally calling a significant number of classmates and shared how happy she was to renew acquaintances on these calls and attend her first reunion.  Susie made a significant contribution to the success our last reunion.  She was a very special lady!
