So sad but thankful to have known this exceptional person.  He cared so much about all of us and kept us togethet for so many years .  He was our glue.   Last time I saw him, he had that big smile on hos face.  And that is how I will always remember him.

Just remember you, Coke, as even-tempered, wonderful helper, and loyal guy. Know that you were a great Blessing to you family and school mates over the years. You will most definitely be missed and thought of for many years. A person's life is not forgotten until the last person that knew him, has passed on. So, you will be around for many, many years yet!  God Bless you and your family!

I first met Coke when we were in the Ray High School Band our sophomore year.  Coke was a talented musician, I was not.  I was in the band only because my mother was determined that I develop some culture and I'm living proof that a mother's determination is not always enough.  In spite of the differences in our musical talent Coke took me under his wing and acted as a mentor to me, a gesture I will always appreciate.

After high school graduation Coke and I went our separate ways and we only saw each other at the reunions. Then, in 2003 my wife and I began spending winters in Rockport.  While there I made the effort to reestablish some old Corpus connections, Coke being one of them.

Coke graciously included me in his periodic meetings with his lunch bunch.  So for 5 winters, until we moved back to the Houston area in 2008, I saw Coke on average of once a month and our frindship was renewed.  During that time I purchased a new computer and Coke generously gave of his time and talent to help me get the new computer up and running.  I think that sort of generosity is typical of the way Coke treated everyone.

I miss living in the Coastal Bend and I miss Coke.

I am saddened by Coke's passing.  He was the nicest, kindest and most considerate guy to know.  He was a great friend.  He was a very down to earth person. More importantly, he was the spirit that provided unity to the class of 1959.  He earned our repect and he worked hard to organize and keep us together.   Coke, the will be in our memories.  We could never thank you enough for all your efforts to make us a better class of friends.  God bless you and your family.

So sorry to lose such a wonderful, kind man.  He was always the one keeping us together -probably like herding cats at some times!  But the memories we all have of our reunions wouldn't be there without Coke and the committee's efforts.  It is so nice to visit the website he created for us, too.  He will be so missed by all.  Rest in peace, friend......

Coke, along with Jean Ann Bird was the kingpin on our '59 reunions over these many years.  We all appreciate the work he did on our website.  The funeral service today was a great tribute to Coke.  His youngest daughter gave a very sweet tribute to him.  I am very glad to call Coke my friend.

Saddened to learn of the passing of Coke Wilson. Knew him since the fifth grade. We sat elbow to elbow for two years in the trombone section of the Baker Band.

Coke was the only person I ever knew that looked the same at ten as he did at seventy. Amazing, his looks never changed.

You know those conversations you have over the years about wouldn't it be nice if somebody would....... Coke didn't talk about. He is the guy that would, and did. He thought enough of each of us, whether he knew you are not, to think it was important to create a way for classmates from his school experience to be able to get together. He always worked hard toward that end. We should all be thankful for that gift.

Was able to have a good long conversation with Coke at the 55th reunion. I will cherish that memory.

So when each of our time comes, the doors open and we step off that elevator into strange surroundings, don't worry. My guess is there will be signs pointing the way to a hall that Coke has rented, and he will have everything organized.

Rest in peace old buddy. You did good.

Coke you always had a smile for everyone.  You never knew a stranger.  I enjoyed you in several of my classes.  God bless you in his kingdom and God bless your loving family.
