So sorry to hear about Russ's passing....he played tackle next to me in football sophmore, junior and senior years, and when we had sophomore basketball tryouts after football he went up for a layup and I was defending and we crashed into each other and he hurt himself and had to have surgery.  I felt terrible, it was incidental contact with both of us up in the air, and he just came down wrong.  Always will remember that and will miss not seeing him at the reunion to share this story....

Sad to learn that "Rusty" Allen has passed and no longer with us.  Rusty and I went up to Central California with Coach Graham during the summer of 1967 and we helped Coach clear a ton of manzanita trees off his property up there.  I think it was East of Visalia way up in the mountains.......The best part was taking innertubes down this big canal about two miles to cool off in hot weather.  Driving back with Coach Graham his little red truck had electric problems and we three were stuck on the highway in the middle of the night near Castaic.  Coach made some sort of repair on it and we were on our way only to break down again at 5 am under the Mulholland Drive Bridge.  Then we had to get AAA to come rescue us........Never forgot that.  Rusty and I laughed about it until graduation two years later.  I'm so sorry to hear this about him.  This is part of what 50 years means in the passing of time and our fellow Mustangs.

Remembering Rusty as a big guy with a big grin. Regarding clearing manzanita, Coach Graham was lucky to have you guys..........that's a nasty, hot job. Adios, Rusty! Mike Woodard
