Comments?

Married Tom Pugh in 1961 and had three wonderful girls. In 1971 married Scott McMillan. We have lived in Glendora, Tucson AZ, Boise ID, Mesa AZ, Alpine AZ and now have a winter home in Oracle AZ. We are enjoying every minute of retirement. Scott built a lot of our furniture for our home in Alpine out of Juniper and Oak in Mission style for our home in Oracle. I continue to volunteer in our community and belong to a women's group, P.E.O., which helps women go back to school to continue their education with loans, scholarships and awards. I am very proud to be a member of this great organization.

What physical maladies do you have (so we can compare ailments)?

Some minor Osteoarthritis in my hands.

Favorite foods?

I just love to eat as long as someone else is cooking. Mexican is number one.

What was the most outrageous thing you did during high school?

What, me outrageous? I don't think so.

What do you like/dislike about being older?

I love being a grandmother. While they were growing up they spent a great deal of time with us. We see them as often as we can. Now that we are in Oracle I would like to do other things. There are a lot of beautiful places to see here in Arizona, so hope we will travel

Hobbies/what do you do in your spare time?

I tend to get myself pretty involved with volunteering in our community. I hope Scott and I will spend sometime traveling around southern Arizona while we are here in Oracle.

Have you done anything really dangerous?

I am not the adventurous type.

At what age did you REALLY become a "grownup" and why?

As long as I am able I don't want to grow up.

What circumstances made you live where you do?

Most of the places we have lived were related to Scott's work, but since he retired we live in the mountains and the desert. It doesn't get any better than that.

Where have your travels taken you over the years?

Scott has a daughter we have visited in Australia. We have been to New Zealand, Alaska, Germany and ATV riding in Mexico.

Is there anything you wish you had done in your life but didn't (or haven't yet)?

Not really, life just continues to surprise us. It's great!

What are the names of your favorite movies?

Loved the Harry Potter series, The Hunt For Red October, Always, Castaway, Patch Adams, Second Hand Lions, Finding Forester. .T.,Chicago, Green Mile, Perfect Storm, Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind, Cocoon ( no, I wouldn't go), Mr. Holland's Opus, Remember the Titans, Meet Joe Black...........

Tell something about yourself that would surprise us?

What you see is what you get!

Of what in your life are you most proud?

My children and wonderful grandchildren.

Ever broken any bones and how did it happen? Or broken someone else’s bones?

Whoops! Does kicking a leg of a chair and breaking a bone in my foot count?

Where were you when President Kennedy was assassinated?

At home in Glendora CA doing one of my least favorite jobs - ironing.

Ever been to a pro football game? Which one?

NO

Have you attended a past high school reunion? Which one/s?

5th, 10th, 20th and 40th

I was born in Covina CA and weighed 9 lbs. 10 oz. need I say more.

What was the hardest thing you ever had to do?

Moving my mother into assisted living. She is doing great and is happy.

Did you go camping as a kid? Memories?

I don't remember camping as a kid. That came after I was married. My dad would get us up at 0 dark 30 and take us up into Azusa canyon and cook breakfast over an open fire. It was the greatest!

Ever own or ride on a motorcycle?

Scott had a motorcycle. I didn't like it much. But a few years ago we went with friends to Copper Canyon, Mexico for five days on an ATV 70 miles a day. It was a beautiful trip.

Did you ride on the roller coaster or the double Farris wheel at the Long Beach Pike?

Nooooooooo! Roller coasters and I don't get along, but in junior high when the band and flag team marched in parades, Sandy Nelson took me up in a Ferris wheel and I think I threatened to hit him if he didn't stop swinging the seat. I was petrified.

Tell us your favorite joke.

I always remember the punch line not the joke.

When and why did you move to Covina? What grade did you start school in Covina? Please share your memories.

I was in 5th grade and we moved to Covina where my dad opened a restaurant. I went to school at the corner of Citrus and San Bernardino Road. Our classroom in an old building on San Bernardino Road and then we moved into the large school building on Citrus. Across the street from a soda fountain where we would go to have french fries and suicide cokes-Yuk.

How did the 1960's affect you? It was so different from the 1950's and many of you were in college, etc. Did you participate in anti-war or civil rights marches/demonstrations? Did you live in a commune? Do love-ins? Wear beads? Tell us your experiences.

What are you asking Santa for this Christmas?

Santa cannot hear very well so I usually leave a list.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

I am appreciating good health now that things are changing. Seeing our grandchildren grow up and succeed in whatever they do.

Which living person do you most admire?

I am going to have to think about this one.

Have you been on a cruise? Have you seen Ole Faithful Geyser? Have you been to the top of the Seattle Space Needle? Have you ridden on a San Francisco Trolley? Have you been to the top of the Empire State Building? Been to Tijuana, Mexico? Been to Niagara Falls?

We have been on a cruise to the Carribean and to Alaska. Last time we visited Ole Faithful it was disappointing, maybe because I was young and it appeared very large then. Love San Francisco as a visitor and you must ride the trolley while there.
Don't think I would feel comfortable on top of the Empire State Building. Tijuana was fun as a young person, but would not want to go to Mexico now.
Would love to see Niagara Falls.
