I was always forgetting my locker number. I hated Mrs. Maroney. I loved being in the drill team.

I can be outrageous and get away with it, and do!

Hobbies/what do you do in your spare time?

read, geneology, paint, volunteer work-love to go to our cabin on Lake Arrowhead. I'm BEEN Regent of the Glendora Chapter of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). I'm a VAVS Representative to the Loma Linda Veterans Medical Center. Through my DAR affiliation, I support, veterans, active military, Literacy, Conservation, and patriatism. We are concentrating on making cooling scarves for the boys and girls that are actively serving in Iraq, etc.. FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS I have sewn 2,000 wheelchair bags for the Veterans. I belong to a group that sews pillowcases for foster, and needy children.

Claims to fame! - been in movies, on tv, newspapers, any inventions, awards?

I've won blue ribbons, and best of show for my painting. Movies have been made at our office. Ive been in the local newspapers. My son Tim, is on TV and newspapers because of being a Lieutenant for the Covina PD. For example, The Christmas Massacre. An interview with Tim, re: the Christmas Massacre, is shown every year on TV.

Have you done anything really dangerous?

got married and raised three sons.

Rode a zip line in Costa Rica.

At what age did you REALLY become a "grownup" and why?

I was born old.

What are your military experiences?

fighting off my kids

What circumstances made you live where you do?

Closer to our office, now close to kids and grandkids. Our office is in Covina. I lived in Covina for 16 years, and then San Dimas for 27, and now Glendora.

Where have your travels taken you over the years?

England, Ireland, France, Italy, Greece, Tai Wan, Hong Kong, French Rivera-many cruises-Caribbean, Alaska, Mississippi, Panama Canal, Mexico, Canada, Scotland.

Is there anything you wish you had done in your life but didn't (or haven't yet)?

I would like to go on a safari.

Any classmates you would like to locate?

Anyone in my homeroom would be fun to talk to. I would love to see Gail Balcoff. Gail Lieberman, now.

What are the names of your favorite movies?

Grand Torino. Blinde Side, Complicated, Speed, All Good Men, etc.

Tell something about yourself that would surprise us?

I have three boobs. Tee Tee!

Of what in your life are you most proud?

My talent to lead and inspire people.but especially raising three successful boys, and staying married to the same man for 57 years!

What was the most memorable Christmas gift you received as a child?

a locket.

Name some of your favorite books.

I like romances and mysteries by many authors. Janet Evanovich is a hoot. I love Patterson.

Ever broken any bones and how did it happen? Or broken someone else’s bones?

A closet fell on my big toe, and broke it. I broke my ankle skiing. Thank Goodness the ski patrol was good looking, otherwise I wouldn't have gone with them!! LOL

Where were you when President Kennedy was assassinated?

In Covina feeding my first born lunch. I was listening to the radio, and thought it was a spoof!

Ever been to a pro football game? Which one?

no, just college games.

Have you attended a past high school reunion? Which one/s?

25th and 10th and 50th, and 70th.

If I knew then what I know now, I would have:

excercised more and experienced sex sooner.

Where were you born and what were the circumstances (dad in the military? mom didn't make it to the hospital in time? born in an airplane?)?

I don't remember much about the day I made an entrance into this world! It must have been a great day! I was born in Detroit, MI. When I was 3 mos. old my mother brought me to LA by train. I've lived in CA ever since.

Tell us your love story/stories - how did you meet, how long after did you get married, have a big wedding/Las Vegas/Justice of the Peace perform it? Where did you go on your honeymoon/s

Dan was at the head table and saw me in a crowd of 300 women at Mt SAC. I ignored him. I was dating others at the time. He seemed to be a nusiance. (pain in the ass). I ran for fair princess. He offered to where one of my posters on his rear if I would go out with him. We were married 9 mos. later.

What was the hardest thing you ever had to do?

Nothing is hard to do; those experiences are just adventures of learning and thus wisdom!

Did you go camping as a kid? Memories?

no

Ever own or ride on a motorcycle?

no, but two of my sons have Harleys. (fat boys).

Did you ride on the roller coaster or the double Farris wheel at the Long Beach Pike?

yes, many times. One of my favorite date venues!!

I've gone on the roller coaster at California Venture, and New York New York Casino in Las Vegas. I love that ride! The scarier, the better!

Anything that makes me giggle.

When and why did you move to Covina? What grade did you start school in Covina? Please share your memories.

My mom said "we are moving." I had no choice.
I started in 6th grade. I think my teacher's name was Mr Weldy. Christine Bell and Marilyn Powell were in my class. Interesting note: Christine's son, Rich is one of my younger son's friend.

How did the 1960's affect you? It was so different from the 1950's and many of you were in college, etc. Did you participate in anti-war or civil rights marches/demonstrations? Did you live in a commune? Do love-ins? Wear beads? Tell us your experiences.

My life was full of having kids in the 6o's. No demonstrations, etc.

What nicknames do you have/had?

Bev, Bevis, Wench, and Nana.

Do you have any tatoos? Where? What do they say?

yes.

Have you seen Ringling Bros. Circus?

But of course!

What Broadway plays have you seen?

Too many to mention.

What talent would you most like to have?

I would love to be able to remember names. I'm pretty good at faces, but names excape me!

What is your greatest extravagance?

I collect hat pins. They can be pricey. My red Vette.

Did you have any secret crushes in high school? Come on...you can tell 50 years later...

I always had a crush on Jim Johnson, and Jerry Barron, but never dated them.

Have you been to Washington, D.C.?

Many times. I go yearly for my DAR Continental Congress. This past year I had the honor of visiting some wounded soldiers at Walter Reed.

In school, what were your favorite subjects to study?

Boys

Can you drive a standard shift car?

Yes

Who are your heros in real life?

God, my husband, and my three sons.

What are you asking Santa for this Christmas?

A serger. I am making wheel chair bags for the veterans at The Jerry Pettis Medical Center in Riverside. A serger would make it easier and faster to get them done. I made 300 wheel chair bags in 2010.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

A kiss from my hubby, my favorite food, and the pleasure of making someone smile. Then of course a telephone call from the grandkids, and my sister.

Which living person do you most admire?

My hubby

Have you been on a cruise? Have you seen Ole Faithful Geyser? Have you been to the top of the Seattle Space Needle? Have you ridden on a San Francisco Trolley? Have you been to the top of the Empire State Building? Been to Tijuana, Mexico? Been to Niagara Falls?

Wow! I've done all of these. What a fortunate person am I!

If you could meet any celebrity or other personality in the world, who would it be and why?

President Trump! I admire him.

If you were granted three wishes from an angel or genie what would you want?

1. to be able to eat anything at anytime without gaining weight. I hate fighting the battle of the bulge.
2. Cure for cancer and alzheimers(spelling ?) disease
3. Everyone to have three wishes granted to them.

What was you favorite TV show in the 50's?

Superman

What has been your most memorable 4th of July celebrations?

I marched in the parade in DC, carrying a flag, and watched the fireworks on the Elipse in front of the White House!

If you thought they would listen to you (yeah, right!), what advice would you give to your grandkids or the upcoming generation of kids?

Decide whether you want to be "Right" or "happy" when there is an arguement.
Always tell your mother or dad I Love you when you go to bed. Same for your spouses when you are married.
Give service to those who need your help.
Laugh as much as you can, especially at yourself.

You're stranded on a desert island....and your fantasy would be that you would share it with whom??

What did you do on your summer vacation?

DC was the first venue, then Cape Cod. We took a boat ride in our nephew's boat to Marthas Vineyard for lunch while there. We traveled to Maine, and found the graves of some of my grandparents. They were born in 1790 and 1780!
This year we are taking a cruise up the Rhine. We will start in Vienna and end up in Amsterdam

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

a movie star

How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are?

40. When I was forty my kids were older, and money wasn't a worry..

Where were you and what were you doing on 9/11? How did it make you feel? Has it changed your life?

I was in Scotland. I was upset for all the families involved, and the fireman, eta that pulled people out of the chaos.

If your house was on fire, what would you take on your way out?

my jewelry, so I would have it to give to my grandchildren.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

healthy, fat, and, an a hoot!

If you won a million dollars, what would you do with it?

give it to my kids

Dan and I bought a duplex on a golf course in Arizona in 2021. We live there 6 mos out of the year. We love it!
