Obituary for Richard Anthony Gregory

Richard Anthony “Ricky” Gregory, age 51, of Springfield, passed away Monday, May 11, 2015 at Golden Living Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at the Hopewell Baptist Church at 1pm with Brother Jim Woodard officiating. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery with Teresa Underwood, Glen Boyd, Scott Burgess, Michael Stewart, Terry Tanner, Cliff Gregory and Murphy Burgess serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Gregory and Odell Gregory. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield from 4-8pm and on Wednesday at the church from 11am until the hour of service at 1pm. 

Mr. Gregory was born November 19, 1963 in Springfield to the late Odell and Rebecca Smith Gregory. He was a farmer, an Atlanta Braves Fan, member of the 1982 graduating class of East Robertson and was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church. 

In addition to his parents Mr. Gregory is preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Carter Gregory and his brothers, Gilbert Gregory and William Gregory.

Mr. Gregory is survived by his Special Friend and Fiancé, Teresa Barber; brothers, Jerry (Phyllis) Gregory of Macon, GA, Odell Gregory of Byron, GA and Cliff (Judy) Gregory of Springfield; sisters, Juanita (Chuck) Flory of Montpelier, OH and Brenda (Scott) Burgess of Springfield; many nieces and nephews with special love to his niece, Murphy Burgess; and his Faithful Companion, “Toot”.
