OK--so this is my first post--but I absolutely couldn't resist--

A former next-door neighbor of mine (who I haven't seen in 13 years)--posts a photo on Facebook. She says she and her husband are on a hiking trip and they run into a former colleague from CLCHS who is now employed as a park ranger and who is "supervising" their hike somewhere in Colorado.

It's Mr. Len Scheel (and here he is circa 1969 thanks to Nick Mozak's wizardry!)

I am sure there are a lot of us who remember this kind, wonderful man--

Oh--In case you are wondering who the woman is in the photo--it's Mary Lloyd Jamison (a former next-door neighbor on Woodstock St. in CL, who I miss every single day).

What a great story Cheryl! Thanks for sharing - and yes, he really was a great guy. Maybe we can get Nick to upload his senior yearbook photo below this photo so all of you who no longer have yearbooks can remember what he looked like 40 years ago. Heck, he must be in his 80's? And he's still leading hikes in the Colorado Rockies? Sign me up for that! I wonder if he took lessons from J. Larry Lane?

Hi Cheryl - what an interesting story.  Len Scheel was my favorite teacher and obviously still an amazing man.  Thank you for sharing this story.  Judy Zink Gedzyk
