Read any good books lately? Posted Friday, August 14, 2009 07:01 AM Happy 40th Anniversary, Woodstock Generation!! It was 40 years ago this weekend that a half million people cramed onto Max Yasgur's farmland to celebrate peace, love and some really good music. If you'd like to read some fun books about the bands that shaped the universal consciouness of our generation, pick up, "The Inside Story of Rock and Roll's Legendary Neighborhood" by Michael Walker (wonder if he's related to the CL Walkers???). Another goodie is "Hotel California" by Barry Hoskins. Fun summer reading. |

RE: Read any good books lately? Posted Friday, August 14, 2009 11:56 PM There you go Gin. Hey I remember exactly where I was when I first heard of what was going on there, does anyone else? That festival had a big impact on what was going on. These day's I'm still looking for my copy of the Whole Earth Catalog, and reading alot of Baba Ram Dass.. They're having a tribute to woodstock this weekend in wstk il. at the Galt airport. Thought about going, but It's all tribute bands , we've seen the originals, besides most of the people there probably weren't even born when it happened. What's a Tie Dye? Do they really know how to do it? |
