CL HISTORICAL SOCIETY

FOR THOSE OF US WHO LIKE WAXING NOSTAGLIA; THE CL HISTORICAL SOCIETY JUST PUT OUT INFORMATION ON THE 1965 PALM SUNDAY TORNADO TO COMMEMORATE THE 45 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THAT TRAGIC DAY.  SEEING ALL OF THE OLD PHOTOS AND VIDEOS IS LIKE TAKING A STEP BACK IN TIME WATCHING IT.  I MISSED THE PRESENTATION AT THE CLPL BUT AM SO GLAD THEY PROVIDED A LINK FOR THOSE WHO WERE NOT ABLE TO ATTEND EITHER AND NOW LIVE AWAY FROM THE CL AREA.  IT'S VERY INTERESTING.  SO HERE IS THE LINK TO THAT AS WELL.  SUCH A WEALTH OF INFORMATION ON OUR COMMUNITY.  http://www.cl-hs.org/31.html

Also for those of you who are on Facebook; you can also become a fan of DOWNTOWN CRYSTAL LAKE/MAIN STREET.  Being a fan; will keep you abreast of what is going on in your OLD hometown.  I already see that some have already joined; but as locals mostly.

Hi Jeanne,

Thanks for the link on the 1965 Tornado. Wow, that brought back some memories. I am very much in to historical events. I am the Curator at the Lansing, IL Historical Museum.  Hope all is well with you, and hope you will be able to attend my BBQ on July 17, 2010 at my home in Lansing, IL.

Let me know if you will be attending by July 10th!

Hope to hear from you soon!,

Hello everybody. Kind of quiet since the reunion. I hope everyone is well. Does anyone rmember the day JFK was assasinated? I remember being at home with the the flu. This is a link to a speech that I thought you might all enjoy. It is very powerful and tends to stir up some very powerful emotions. The link is on a site that I just put up to give people information and answers on some of the issues of concern to American's today. This link is to a video of one of the last speeches made by JFK.  I hope you like it. Ger          http://altnewschannel.com/?p=484
