I am very happy to see many of the folks I want to see will be coming to the reunion. I have spoken with lots of you all ready thanks to the info in everyones profiles. I expect to come home feeling like I never left CL. It will always be a comfort zone for me even if I didn't feel that way when I lived there.

I want a confirmation of who I was and why I became who I am today. That is what I want from this reunion.

That's really cool Jennifer.  I wasn't really sure what I was looking for when I posted that topic,  just kinda left it out there.  When I read your reply, that's what I was looking for.

We all left after four years with lots of memories..some good and some not. I'm hoping we can leave with renewed friendships, new friendships, and warm fuzzies of Crystal Lake.

ok....I was in the store the other day....just another memory......remember when all the boys wore Canoe or British Sterling. The girls wore Heaven Scent and Chantilly.....HS memory......

Loved your post Jen and good idea Charly!

I too can't wait to see all my "old friends" but now also so many of you I didn't know much at all when we were in grade and high school together. I was voted Most Congenial in hgih school but I sure wasn't very congenial to many of you back then so my apologies! But I'm glad I'll get the opportunity to connect with many of you at the reunion!

So, just connecting with all of you is what will charge my batteries but also to tour the high school and the "town". I've been back lots but I've not seen all the changes so many of you are discussing on my quick drives around town. Mary Nan King wanted to do a bicycle tour but we can't find anywhere to rent bikes - so guess we'll all just have to take a drive around in our rental cars - unless some of you locals want to arrange a "Changed Crystal Lake" tour?

Hey, I'm willing to try to get together a "Then and Now " tour of cl.  I'll need some help, it would be cool to have one of those double decker busses to cruise around in.  Anyone interested in helping out on that, let me know.

Contact Jim Haisler @Haisler's Shoe/Bootery.

They just did something like that about a month ago...with the buses, I think.

He would be a great resource for you.

 Hi Charlie,

Ran into Jim Haisler on Friday. They used Trolleys for the Historical House Tour. Could run into some $$ but it could be fun as well. He told me the name of the gal to contact (don't remember at the moment) I can follow up with it if you'd like.

Lots of classmates have recently joined the site so we just want everyone to know that there are three blog Forums currently with 14 topics having been discussed. This Topic was started by Charlie Boss and is asking what people would like to see at ouor upcoming 40th Reunion. (Have YOU registered yet?) But be careful, if you come up with an idea, you may become the owner of that idea! That's what's happened to Charlie with the CL Tour idea and he could use some help to put that together - right Charlie?

Check out all the topics and post a comment if you have something to add! If you click on the Forum List at the top of the page, you can view the Forum titles. Click a title and you will see the the individual topics listed in that Forum. If you'd like to start your own topic to be discussed, click "Post New Topic" at the top of the page, name your topic and post away! Happy Blogging!

Yes Paul, and it is  a work in progress, be back to you soon on that.

Back to the site and the blogs, It's been a really good thing. We have all gone through alot of things since our high school, and we continue to face more as we go on.  It's really nice to remember the good times that we had.  We all grew up together, and there is a commen bond.  I think it is a good feeling to know that in this world, there is about 300+  people that we know.

Well said Chas! And classmates, PLEASE e-mail Charlie if you can help him organize a tour of Crystal Lake on Saturday morning before or after the high school tour.

Solomon awakens! Welcome back Ger!

I think most I correspond with here would agree that a significant portion of school was a social experience. Sure we learned things, some more than others, but the memories I'm hearing aren't about the classroom, there about the relationships - and it's the relationships that have and will sustain us. Sadly, they are also what keep many of our classmates from ever wanting to have anything to do with us or with "things high school". We can do some serious damage to people along the way.

I've forgotten much of what I learned back then and in college, it's no doubt burried somewhere in the depths of my mind, but my emotions stir every time someone relives a story of their and our lives way back then - and now! We created this site just because their is that need in us. We need to love and care for each other! Too bad it often takes us 58 years to learn that it's the people that we cross paths along our way that really matter - to us and to our Creator!

So it sounds like you ARE coming now! That's great. I'll look forward to spending some "cranial time" with you, Charlie, Steve and others who are not put off by our differences but revel in finding common ground! Remember oh wise Solomon supposedly the wealthiest, wisest man that ever lived, began with "vanity, vanity, all is vanity" and ended by telling us to not incessantly read and discuss more but on a much more upbeat note for those who would listen - and those who will act. See you soon Ger!
