Thanks ! Just doesn't seem to be enough! You ROCK!! Anyway, this was a great reunion and so much was done to make it a success! Last nights party at the Turnberry CC and great food and even better company and then the entertainment of Kath O'Malley, what a stitch she is!

Everyone seemed to be having a great time and even tolerated my need to have my 69' yearbook signed. I got most of you, and for those that I missed, I hope to get you at the 50th.

Have a safe and happy life until the next time we meet...jenny hughes saia

I can't thank Susie and Lynn and Paul and Barb and Nick and Joan and Jill---everyone who made this reunion event so positively wonderful!!  It was incredible to connect with so many classmates.  None of us can express our appreciation enough to all of you for you dedication and hard work.

Thanks to all who put this together....from the bottom of my heart.  It was such great fun and I wish more classmates would have come.....they have no idea what they missed out on.  It was so nice to see all those who did show up, the laughter and the conversation was enjoyable...too bad it all couldn't have lasted a little longer.  So....may all of you stay safe, happy and well and I hope to see you at the next reunion.

It was clear to me that everyone was having a great time at all the events. I was happy to see so many of my former classmates there. I was curious why so many that lived close to CL did not come. I hoped the decision not to attend was not based on past ill feelings towards the area. I have never found that opinions and ideas about a certain subject were ever accurate. Those significances are formulated from past impressions and situtions in a very oppressive environment; school. I wanted to thank Paul, Suzie and all those that assisted in making this weekend a very special occasion in the hearts and minds of those that attended. I wrote this blog in the hopes that others that did not attend will take this very rare opportunity to communicate with their classmates through the website . Thanks to "the Committee." G

 Gerry:

Thanks for your post, your attendance at the events  and bringing your spirit to the week end.

It would not have been the same if you, Harry , Charlie ( and all the rest ) had not attended. I wish that crazy man Mc Donough would have been there! And again, kudos for you dragging your ass all the way from South Africa!

I am still remembering the great time of last weekend and am feeling wistful for those  incredible 3 days ( plus the day before when Nan arrived in Chicago from Maine).

Be well my friend,

Nick

Thanks Nick: There is a definite dynamic when the Class gets together. I am glad we were able to get together and that there was so much affinity and comraderie. I would have liked to spend more time with each and every person there. After the event and whilst leaving I found myself wondering what stopped such openess and frindliness during our school years. It certainly wasn't our lack of knowing how to have fun. That was clear this weekend. I wish you all the best and thank you. G

My sentiments exactly.......there was such a great feeling of warmth and welcome.  Maybe the awkwardness of H.S. was just because we were so young and didn't know any better.  The common statement I heard over and over at the reunion was "I didn't think I fit in".....well, I think we all "fit" very well this past weekend.  Too bad we couldn't have stretched the weekend out a little longer.

I totally agree with you guys. It was the best I ever attended.  I think that CLCHS 69, actually came together last weekend.  My thoughts of what's going on in the world have changed, knowing that you  are out there gives me hope.  Big Thanks to Paul and " The Committie "  You Guys Made It Happen!

You Rock Pictures, Images and Photos

Although I didn't attend the reunion; I am not at all surprised that it was a success.  I believe this website is also a great contributing factor to you having a very successful reunion.  I think having this website helped everyone reconnect in a way that it never could have otherwise.  This website made it possible to break the ice a bit and give people a chance to catch up with everyone else and what's been going on in their lives.

I'm sure that in the past; the reunions were fun too; but we didn't have a fantastic website to help it along.  Hats off to all the organizers putting this together as well as Brad Switzer; the genius behind Class Creators.  I feel sorry for the ones that didn't participate in any of the three days' events.   They really missed out!  I enjoyed the mixer on Friday evening at the Cottage; although it was pretty crowded and noisy.  It was great chatting with people I hadn't seen since 5th grade.

I hope you keep the website going as it'll help you stay in touch and keep everybody posted about future events.  Good luck on locating the rest of your class.  They really don't know what they missed out on and are missing not being a part of this website!

Also, a big thanks to Paul Fruin for helping me get the CGCHS website up and running!

Ditto! I had a good time and I'd like to thank all of you who worked so hard to provide a fun reunuion weekend. My wife and I went to the parade on Friday, then McCools, then the first part of the CLHS football game and finished at the Cottage. Saturday, I went to the school tour, McCools and to the country club festivites.

I belive I spoke to around 80 classmates during the two days and everyone was super.

Thanks to all of you who attended...it was great to see you all again!

Gerry,

I think it was just the "times" back then.  We didn't speak openly about things.  In fact, things were going on in everyone's homes that were not allowed to be talked about like now.  Mental illness, alcholol, divorce, abuse--was in so many of our families that we could not openly talk about or were even hidden from us.  Times are different now and that is the beauty about reconnecting and feeling free to discuss these things.

Thank you all--Class of '69!

We are a class act.  Last weekend we experienced laughter, warmth, love, truly good feelings, and great conversations.  This was the best reunion ever!  The weather even cooperated!  I'm only sorry I couldn't find time to speak to all that attended.

Thanks to the committee--Paul, Susie, Lynn, Barb, Nick, Rick, Jill, & Joan.  Your dedication & hard work will always be remembered.  Quite a success!

We may be older, but we're better than ever!

Until we meet again, stay safe...       -- Mary Lou
