Harry John Atkinson III

Harry John Atkinson III

Sad to report that we have lost another classmate.  Thanks to Gerald Wilhelmi for his best look at Harry on our Facebook page.

"I was informed that Harry John Atkinson III passed this mourning. Certainly the world is a better place as a result of Harry being with us. I know Harry is in very good place and his kindness, compassion. and considerate manner will be rewarded. I am happy he is free from the pain and any burden of this life. My sincere condolences to Harry's family of two daughters and two sons--his mother lives in Arkansas."

I personally didn't know Harry as well as some of our classmates but what I did know of Harry he was a "character". Easy to laugh and always in a good mood, fun guy to be around.
Know he will be missed by family ,friends and aquaintances.

RIP HARRY

I remember when Harry moved to Crystal Lake. He wa a very shy and private person and hs dress and manner was different. His first couple of days at CLCHS began with Harry being pretty much ignored.  IAfter observing this I decided to go over and speak with him. I found Harry  liked Dylan and Donovan and that is where we began our freindship. He had a 1932 hot rod on a 1955 chevy frame with a 327 Corvette engine. He was always interested in cars and driving fast and that was something we shared. We went to dozens of concerts in the city had an apartment in Alogonquin when we were still in high school. There were so many adventures that would be inappropriate for this forum. In the end I introduced Harry to the few freinds I had and he became close with some of them. He was easy going and was masterful when it came to working with his hands. He had his own ideas about life and living and these didn't always align with what teachers and other authorities and institituions agreed upon. Harry will be missed as one of the true originals to grace this planet.
