Bob died in December, 2005. He served as an MP dog handler in Vietnam and the side effects of Agent Orange caused Bob many problems leading to diabetes and a non-cancerous brain tumor among others. He lived in Bonita Springs, Florida and is survived by his sister, Colleen Heaton Bailey, from the Class of '65 who provided the following:
Bob enjoyed sports as a boy and continued to play softball and practice martial arts in the years after his service in the army. He liked to play the lottery and sometimes was lucky and won a few dollars. His death was very sad for me. Our mother had died in May of the same year. We were together for the last time. I could tell he wasn't well, but didn't realize how sick he was. They told me that he collapsed outside of his apartment, the EMS people revived him, took him to a hospital, but he passed away two days later of organ failure. He was 55 years old. We all miss him, especially his sense of humor. He always had a witty comment that would make us laugh. Thank you for your interest.

Bob and I spent some time together during High School. He played guitar and was willing to show me what he knew. He was a very decent chap and the world is better place as a result.

Bob was always a good friend, 6th grade thru senior year. Hate to see him go so soon.Rick Barchard
Bob and I were friends and team mates for baseball. He had a fun sense of humor and we had some fun hanging out together. After high school we sort of lost touch, but saw him a couple of times when he came to CL to visit his mother. (Who was good friends with my mom) He was just not the same guy from that awful war. Bob, we will miss you.
