It's hard to believe your life was cut so short, so soon after graduation. You are thought of often and I wish you could be here to celebrate this milestone with all who attend our reunion...your friend...jenniferGerald Wilhelmi
I had no idea Jim was gone. I remember Jim (without exageration) to be the nicest person never uttering anything negative. I find it odd that so many of the truly characteristically outstanding personalities in our graduating class are on this list. Jim was one of those and the world will miss his kind. If anyone knows the particulars please drop me a line ml GerTom Winkle
I hung out with Jim quite a bit. We went to work for Wendy Brunckhorst's dad at his car wash business on Virginia Ave. The cars were dropped off, usually overnight, and Jim and I washed them inside and out; carpet, upholstry, the whole bit. One Saturday we were supposed to be there at 7:00am to open up and greet a customer who had an appointment to drop off his car. I went to pick-up Jim a little before 7:00 but he was still asleep. It took a long time for his mom to roust him and get him ready, so we were nearly an hour late. There was a fresh snow and it was easy to see the customer had come and gone. Mr. Brunckhorst had just arrived. He was a very mild mannered, nice man, but he fired us on the spot. I took Jim home and I'm sure he went back to bed and slept until the early afternoon. (I know that's what I did).Jim was a good friend to many people, and a really nice guy.
PS: Jim was born June 6, 1951 and he died August 29, 1970, the victim of a hit and run driver while hitchhiking in the South
