Brooke was killed as a result of injuries she received in an automobile accident in Colorado on December 11, 1994. The Emergency Room staff initially indicated she would survive but she then unexpectedly died in the ER.

I unexpectedly ran into Brooke at a popular local santa fe rest. that I worked at. We met up, went on a hike and had a picnic lunch up in the mountains. That was the last time I saw her but I will always remember that afternoon.Debbie Visin (Hindman)
Brooke was one of my best friends from junior high through high school. She had the greatest sense of adventure and loved to take risks. I learned a lot from her by just watching what she did! I lived vicariously through her! She was an extremely kind and caring person and was a loyal friend. Brooke was always there for me even when I thought I had no friends! Brooke and I were roommates at University of Illinois our freshman year. She ended up getting married to Chris Hobson - and left me roommateless. Her daughter Stephanie was born in 1970. Sadly, Stephanie died sometime this year of cancer, according to my mom. Her son Jacob, who was born in 1973, is still living, but I'm not sure where he lives. Brooke and Chris divorced, and Brooke later married Jerry Mueller, whom I had been engaged to briefly in college! They were extremely happy, living in Colorado. Jerry called me a few months after Brooke died in a freakish car accident to tell me a bit about their lives. He was so shocked and saddened to lose her. Brooke and I kept in touch throughout our adult lives, but only sporadically. I have many regrets that I didn't correspond with her on a more regular basis. Her unexpected death has convinced me that I need to make more effort to keep in touch with those that I love. Her April birthday still sticks in my mind. She is one friend that I will never forget! She taught me so much, and she was so much fun to be with. I still think of her often and wonder why she died so young!
