Marcia passed on January 2, 2025. She was a fun classmate with many friends. There isn't a lot of information available in the obituary. If anyone has more information, please send it to the website.
Marcia Dear - it seems like just yesterday. I remember what you said to me when you found out Bob Rehberg was taking me to a dance. You were so sweet. ❤️
I got to know Marcia while we were still at Central Jr. High, hanging out after school playing basketball or hitting tennis balls off that high brick wall. She was always sweet, funny, and easy to talk to. About five years ago, Marcia messaged me through the class site about my recording projects. We took that discussion off the site, caught up on our respective lives to that point, and I connected her to our recordings on You Tube.
At that time, Marcia shared that she had developed very serious health challenges around 2017, necessitating a move from Oregon to Indianapolis where she could be cared for by her sister and brother-in-law. Before that, I think Marcia had spent many years in nursing, and at the time we corresponded, she had recovered enough to resume some part-time home health nursing activity. I'm afraid that's as much as I know. MH
I was on the CLCHS 1969 Facebook site and there was a class picture of Marcia standing with the rest of 4th Grade class. The picture was Miss Knox's class at Central School. I was surprised to see Marcia was one of the students in that class.
Marcia and I first met when her family lived next door in my parent's apartment building. She set up a blind meeting/date with Don Donner and me for Sadie Hawkins (my sophomore year) and the rest is history (20 years together)
Marcia always made me smile and laugh in spite of the difficulties she was facing growing up and thruout her life. I think she was the first girl to ever take SHOP in high school. She truly valued the friendships she made while living in Crystal Lake.
We kept in touch and I think she found peace being surrounded by good friends thruout her life.
Rest in peace sweet Marcia. Sending you "Lavender Love"

Marcia was a great classmate who was willing to pitch in on any class project. She was very witty and fun to hang out with! She will be missed.
