Dan passed away at Centegra Hospital in Woodstock on November 22, 2011, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born Oct. 20, 1951, in Chicago, the beloved son of Daniel J. and Florence V. (Naruszewicz) Henry Sr.

After high school, Dan attended McHenry County College and was a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corps Military Police. He was raised in a strong farming family and community, so it was no surprise when he became a professional truck driver, carrying precious cargo, no matter the load. He always was dependable, a hard worker and always on time. He took great pride in knowing all the back roads and shortcuts. He would get up early in the morning, get his coffee, a chocolate doughnut and have a cigarette while cruising down the rural roads, and to the chagrin of others, not really reaching the speed limit. How else did he know how to avoid the scales? He just loved traveling the rural roads and was a proud member of the Huntley Harvesters 4-H Club.
He loved old cars, mini bikes, four-wheelers, tractors, farming and county fairs. He enjoyed assembling model cars, reading, American history, junk food and smooth jazz music. Above all, he was kind and generous and would help anyone in need. He was a loving son, proud father and grandfather and cherished brother.
 

Dan is survived by his father, Daniel Henry Sr.; his children, Daniel J. III, Amanda, Joseph (Sarah) and Steven; his grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Zoey and Matthew on the way; his sister, Diane (Ray) Freutel; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Florence, on May 11, 2010; and his grandparents, Daniel and Henrietta Henry and Frank and Stalla Naruszewicz.
