Brad, 57, passed away Monday, April 27, 2009, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
He was married to his high school sweetheart, Deborah A. (Stowe) Miller, on April 8, 1972, in Crystal Lake. He was employed by Wonder Bread as a district sales manager before his illness. He was an avid Cubs fan and loved to listen to music, golf, fish and play the guitar.
Brad and Deb had two children; Michael and Megan (Chris) Johnson of Las Vegas and two grandsons, Maverick Johnson and Clayton Webb.

I remember Brad was a great and outgoing guy and very witty.He hung out some with Jim Bault and I remember him liking basketball. I think he was a regular at the Dannehy barn court.
He lived in Coventry and I used to go hang with him when I went to my Grandmother's house.

I met Brad when I moved to CL in 1960. We were in Mr. Walrick's class and went on several day trips together. Walrick would take five or six students with the best GPA on day trips every six weeks. Brad and I were usually the only guys and we would be accompanied by Denise Wilbur, Debbie Visin and Karla Doolen. He was very smart, upbeat and fun to be around.Tom Winkle
Very sad to hear this. Joan and I double dated with Brad and Debbie, and hung out together in Coventry. Had great times playing "Risk" with Brad, Mike O'Hara, and Kieth Koehler. I guess we were low-tech nerds back in the day. Brad and Debbie were a really nice couple.Doug Walters
I came to Crystal Lake at the beginning of my junior year. Being the new kid always has its difficulties as we all know. Fortunately for me, Brad was one of the first people I met. We became friends and spent a lot of time doing things together. One thing I remember was he and I buying a case of Schlitz Malt liquor (remember the small cans)and hiding it out on some farm under a tree. It snowed that night and we didn't find that case until the snow melted a few weeks later. Still tasted great even though the cans were rusty around the edges. Having Brad and Deb as friends during high school made CLCHS an experience that I will always remember. He may not be with us any more but he will always be in my heart.Debby Mathis
Brad moved into Coventry in about 7th grade. There were not that many kids living there and we all hung out together. I have great memories of the "gang" climbing in the partially built houses and going trick or treating together. He was a great guy.
