Larry passed away from renal failure on August 4th. Larry was a graduate of the University of Illinois, where he majored in accounting. He had been employed as a computer systems analyst at the time of his passing.
Larry was not only a member of our class but had participated in finding classmates to appraise them of this website.
If you can provide additional information concerning Larry's life following high school until the time of his passing, please click the Contact Us link above and tell us what you know. We would appreciate hearing from you.
Please post your memories of Larry below.

I heard of Larry's passing today as many of you also did and I am reminded how fortunate we are to be able to share our memories of Crystal Lake on this website. In spite of his health concerns, it seems Larry was planning to attend the reunion. I hope that those that were ambivalent about attending would stop and consider that their attendance could be a great contribution of solidarity for all of us to remember those friends who are no longer physically with us. See you in September ( yikes it's getting closer!)

I remembered Larry, but didn't know him well. As one of the "searchers" for classmates, couldn't believe my luck when I found Larry listed in Geneva, IL.Check out his profile-he was very funny. He'd gotten involved in the search, too, and as Nick said, was planning to come to the reunion. I was looking forward to seeing him again.
How sad and shocking it was to receive Stig's email notifying us of Larry's death. Once again, we are reminded of the fragility of our existence.
The 40th Reunion is an opportunity to reconnect, fill in gaps and learn from each other. I've never been to one before, but because of Paul Fruin's persistence, I'm going to my first reunion. Forty years is a long time, so it's about time! Who knows what the next ten years will bring?
We know Larry will be watching. God Bless him!

It is with sadness that I came across the notice about Larry last night. Larry and I were very good friends in Junior High and High School. I happened to Google Larry a couple of months ago and that lead me to the CLCHS69 site. Waited too long to reconnect. Very sad.Paul Fruin

I counted Larry as one of my closest friends in my undergrad years at UIUC. I owe him a large debt of gratitude for finally bestowing a nickname on me - even though I'm German-Welsh. I knew him as Lar, and took up that shortened name for myself for my friends during and after college - always remembering the fine person I got it from. So sad to hear of his passing in the UI Alumni News. Thanks for posting the high school picture - no wonder our classmates got us confused (he was taller).
