Linda passed away unexpectedly on July 27, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elgin. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade School prior to joining all of us in high school. She worked at Sky High Volleyball Club in Crystal Lake for many years and was a #1 fan of Marian Central Girls' Volleyball.
Traveling, playing cards and dice, and planning and hosting family picnics and events were a few of her passions. She was supportive and generous by nature, and involved in her daughter's activities and loved spending time with her granddaughter Londyn.
She is survived by her daughter Laura Watling, granddaughter Londyn Watling, father Donald Thurow and brothers David and Ricky Thurow, numerous uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Her mother Lorraine and brother Gary Thurow preceded her in death.
As with all our deceased classmates, Linda will be missed by her classmates, family and friends. Please click the "Contact Us" button above if you have any additional information you would like us to include regarding Linda and her life.

Linda was a very good and close friend of mine through junior high, high school and life........so many memories. It is so hard to lose someone and face death, it just doesn't seem real. She had some health problems but always pulled through and this time it was minor and the doctors were about to send her home.......I guess you just never know. Linda was such a good person and truly had a heart of gold. Even though her life was cut short, I am so glad that she saw her daughter get married and then had some precious time with her grand daughter. I will think of you often Linda and always remember you.........you are sorely missed by so many.

My memories of Linda are “fun times”. I got to know her better after HS. She called me one day and we started going to Elgin and dance clubs she had been to. She introduced me to some great people and we partied for the next couple years. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding. “Loving, sweet, and kindhearted” are words that describe her. We had lost touch many years ago and when my sister told me she had passed away, I was shocked. I got in touch with Gloria Porm and she gave me the update. I’m brokenhearted and will never forget Linda’s smile and wonderful laugh. I can still hear it.
