Roger was a great guy, well liked by everyone. He was a member of our class from the very beginning in 1966. Roger lost his life in an automobile accident on August 17, 1979. He was survived by his parents, Duane and Dovie Whitaker, and brothers Rodney and Richard. He is missed by all but will remain in our hearts always.

I had the honor of having attended all 12 years of school with Roger. He was a good friend and a great guy. One thing I remember about him from our earliest years is that Roger had a very bad stomach and Mrs. Pearl, the lunch room lady, would make him scrambled eggs whenever they served anything spicy, like those wonderful (yeah right) bar-b-q weinies. Later on, in high school, Roger was always asking if I got my algebra homework....he wanted to "borrow" my paper. I remember when I got the call that Roger had died. I cried and cried.
